teecee Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 I had been working on getting a small section of Larry's PNW shipping working, and finally had some success so I took a screenshot, and went to get a cup of coffee. When I got back my sim would not run..frozen no matter what I did, so after several tries, I shut the sim down, and it was at this point that I realised that I had been trying to fly a screenshot!! ... Teecee. PS: here is the screenie in question..
pmb Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 You're all but old, you were still able to detect the cause! Kind regards, Michael
Stillwater Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 A great view, much better that a blue screen!
paddler Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 Don't complain, I would still be trying to get it to fly!
CBPilot Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 ... and good on you for admitting it! Made me smile, for sure. Thanks.
teecee Posted February 15, 2018 Author Posted February 15, 2018 Thanks guys, that makes me feel a bit more sane. Teecee.
Rob Abernathy Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 Yeah, you're not alone Teecee! BTW, nice shot of Powell River.
Ron Attwood Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 I love it. I can imagine it, pounding the P key, effin' and blinding and ferchissaking. Then realisation dawns on you. Priceless!
Richard Lincoln Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 Great shot BTW, you are only as old as you feel apparently.
teecee Posted February 15, 2018 Author Posted February 15, 2018 Thanks guys, again..and Ron,I tend to do a lot of " ferchissaking" of late..Teecee.
Doc_Z Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 I tried to fly a YouTube video the other day.
Rodger Pettichord Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 Old is as old does. Or is it old does as old is? Where's my reading glasses?
Patrick Cox Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 Don't worry Terry I am not that far behind you age wise and I also do this. And I don't need to go away to get a coffee.
W2DR Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 I just walked into the kitchen and opened the refrigerator door. And then realized I had no idea why I did that. Happens all the time. And I'm one of the young guys...barely 75....Doug
Mikelab6 Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 Don't worry Teecee ! I am only 53 and last week, I was on my way back to home from work and had hard time to see through my freezed car windshield and figured out I had my reading glasses instead of my regular ones... Mike
teecee Posted February 16, 2018 Author Posted February 16, 2018 A bit near to real life for me Mike, at least I will survive a FS crash.. Teecee.
VH-KDK Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 Wonderful stuff Terry and you are definitely not alone. Going to parts of the house only to forget why I went there. Looking for the tap in the laundry trough last night to wash my hands then realising I am stood by the washing machine. I could go on but there is not enough paper as I type this!
Triplane Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 +1.....He even looks like me when I had hair.....

Anthin Delahunt Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 That was an absolute scream. Still laughing. Anthin.

Needless to say the coffee was cold 15 minutes later and the milk was getting warmer.
ridinroun Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 I love talks like this. I'm 62 and having "senior moments" of my own. This lets me know I'm not alone. That gif above is priceless. Thanks for the good laugh everyone.
Gypsy Pilot Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 Well, at least you finally realized what the problem was before you did something stupid. I know that things like this happen to all of us, what worries me is the increase in frequency. Dale
chrishunt Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 The old screen shot trick is something we used to do at work. Absent colleague, take a screen shot of the desktop, display said screen shot and sit back and enjoy.

Hi Teecee I do this all the time taking screenshots for a project. I use the Windows Snipping Tool so I can avoid having to crop the shot later and once I save it, all too often I end up trying to get the next shot from the still open Snipping Tool. And then when I try to close it, if I’m not lucky I end up closing the sim instead and have to start all over to get the next shot!
Gabe777 Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 "With age comes wisdom" ..... and with wisdom comes the ability to simply: 'be grateful', when your PC boots up, and you are in the cockpit by the time it takes you to visit the loo... and put your teeth in. More importantly, when it doesn't ...... instead of freaking out, reinstalling drivers and searching the web for error codes... you just turn it off at the wall, and go and make a cup of tea ! That's wisdom.
cthiggin2 Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 And ALL of this is called the "Golden Years"???????????????????????

adambar Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 Walked around the house for half an hour looking for my car keys when I realized they were in my pocket. Went to put dressing on my salad and picked up my beer can instead...ferchissak. I'm 74 by the way.
teecee Posted March 4, 2018 Author Posted March 4, 2018 Don''t worry mate, the older you get, the worse it gets.. (just thought I would cheer you up) . Teecee.
Gypsy Pilot Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 Sounds like normal behavior to me. This morning I wanted to get a push pin from my desk to use in the kitchen. It only took 3 trips to get it done. Dale
Aussie123 Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 All sounds very familiar. I have microwaved instant Oats each morning for breakfast. Yesterday, I poured milk over the oats in a bowl, as usual, put the bowl in the fridge and was left standing, with the door handle of the microwave in my left hand and the bottle of milk in my right. I stood there for about 3 seconds before my brain caught up My wife believes I think too much about flight sim.
paulb Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 I never remember being absent minded. I keep repeating myself. I don't do drugs. I get the same effect just by standing up fast. I keep repeating myself. Frustration for me is trying to find my spectacles without my spectacles. I keep repeating myself.
