  1. OK. Lots of "stuff" here. This is exactly that you need to do to get around the Active Protection problem with P3D/FSX without disabling everything: Right click the Acronis Active Protection icon in the task bar.....Click open settings.....Click on Protection and then click on Settings.....Click on Manage Exclusions.....Add the folders you want excluded. Problem solved............ Doug
  2. It may...just as the War Of Northern Aggression is undergoing a brief pause (it's amazing what I learned living in Georgia for a while )...........
  3. Neither Ian. Although my father's family immigrated here from Scotland is was a long time before The Clearances. Every once in a while one of those "Scottish things" just slips out. When I was growing up in California a family moved in just a couple of houses away. They had a boy my same age (10) and we became the best of friends...after I figured out what language he was speaking . The family came from a small town near Aberdeen (I can't remember the name) and his (their) accent was like nothing I had ever heard before. Eventually I got the hang of it and I still find myself saying things like "wee typo"..........Doug
  4. Probably just a wee typo: clishmaclaver: “idle talk, gossip, or empty chatter” But.....we don't do any of that here. This is all serious stuff!
  5. I don't wander nor do I wonder. I know exactly what I'm talking about. It's all you other guys that I can't figure out..............
  6. Wise words indeed Dale. Only those of us who are approaching the end of the journey can truly know, and appreciate, that time is not on our side.
  7. Unless, of course, you're Irish. My many-times-great grandfather, Abner O'Casey, arrived here in what eventually came to be known as The Colonies in 1632. And it's a well known fact in my family that Dale's right about English cars. They even had trouble back then with the English boats....
  8. OK.....how about this....Ferrari is better than Lamborghini.....Ford is better than Chevy....Sofia is better looking than Gina....and mine's bigger that yours.
  9. This probably won't count but, I got a five minute "ride" in a Link Trainer back in 1949. It was a part of a Naval Air Station exhibit at the Monterey (CA) County Fair. All I can remember is that it was painted blue on the outside and it was really dark on the inside. Great stuff for a six-year old kid...............Doug
  10. John - I can't even imagine what you've been through. For me life was an easy road. I've never experienced any thing like problems you've encountered. May God bless you and yours. The incredible courage of the English people will never be forgotten.,,,,,,,,,Doug
  11. There are two things I believe.....the year 1968 changed the fabric of America forever and.....the iPhone and Facebook have changed the fabric of the world. When the history books are written (long past my lifetime) Steve Jobs and Mark Zukerberg will be noted as two of the major influences of our time. Whether for better or for worse is not for me to say but, for sure, they have changed the world.............Doug PS: Does anybody remember the days when we used to come home from school and play outside with our friends until dinner time?
  12. You're so right Dale. I remember not long ago I told my oldest son (he's 50 now) that when I was a kid we didn't have TV. He gave this questioning look and said.....couldn't you just watch the TV programs on the computer....................
  13. Back where I grew up we called them candy cigarettes. By the time I was 5-6 years old I had a three-pack-a-day habit..........
