John Venema
In another topic about future regions I hinted about an Orbx Netherlands. Since this will soon be in early beta testing I've decided to show these alpha build shots to get people excited about our very first completely photoreal FTX region! This incredible region will feature every house, building, tree, mast, power line, windmill, industrial area and wind farm in the entire country in 3D and perfectly annotated and positioned. Many POIs. Every water body. Every airport upgraded. 5 Seasons. Night lighting. Vehicle traffic. 5m mesh. And more ... And a few screenshots of the amazing night lighting. Emmsie, John and the beta team will be doing proper previews soon enough.

BrianV
Haven't been to the Netherlands in quite a while now but this will soon change. Great stuff, and the 3D photoreal is amazing.
mburkhard
Not a fan of COMPLETE photoreal coverage. Landclass based is just fine, with some local photoreal coverage for important stuff. I want to be able to fly this with airliners too. The amount of data this requires will be huge, with a tremendous strain on the overall system. AMAD
Looks Great ! I hope you guy’s cover the whole of Benelux, lots of flight simmers in those countries and a good corridor between the UK and GER.

maxhades
Wow! For FSX too? What about Fly Tampa Schiphol? Or an own ORBX Schiphol Airport? I remember in FSX the VAS in this area was incredible high! Max

Mikael Cedergren
Fantastic, finally photoreal! A new era of regions. Gone are repetetive landclass tiles. Very exciting times for FS I was thinking about PNW, my favorite region! It will be developed for AeroflyFS in photoreal as I understand but why not for p3d as well? I would buy for sure. I mean if Orbx own the photos anyway. Just a thought. Would be incredible together with all those great airports mike
John Venema
Yes we do plan to do a photoreal PNW (excluding Canadian area) for FSX/P3D as well. Firstly however we will tackle it in AFS2.
DunRingill
Finally a photoreal with autogen scenery with natural colours! This will make all other sceneries look old
Sid
My word!!! I simply knew it! Well not really...lol. But when JV mentioned new tech and Netherlands the other day, I thought "what could that be? it has to be a photorealistic base". But I daren't have even voice it or actually believed it could be true! I did think it would make perfect sense though, with the other and newer things Orbx is starting to do within its current roadmap. Not only is it true, there's even better news we read today with more to the new tech than we could have hoped for. Every house??? Gulp! Unbelievable! And all the rest of it JV has introduced to come with this massive new first for Orbx. My sentiments?! The shots: simply Incredible!! The new concept: An absolutely perfect way to go with so much potential for the future of simming with Orbx!! My state of mind: Stunned!! The concluding understatement: WOW!!! I simply can't say anymore right now...I'm just too happy seeing and reading all this!!! Just, seriously well done and thank you JV and the whole Orbx team! You've got the eye on the ball guys, seriously. I can only imagine how exciting the future's going to be from today onwards. Perfectly-timed injection of real and lasting excitement! Bouwe van den Braak
Speechless! Question: What packs do i need to run ftx netherlands? At this moment i have not any orbx product...yet. I will buy it instantly when it comes out for sale!! Kind regards, Bouwe
DunRingill
Will the autogen houses in this scenery have proper scale, ie not massively overscaled as in traditional landclass sceneries? Edit: What I mean is, will the scenery creator place a building with fixed scale? As opposed to traditional landclass where the houses are randomly generated. NoLonger
A dream come true. It looks utterly awesome. I am out of words, really. I haven't been this happy with an Orbx announcement since the day FTX Norway was announced. But now I am even happier because it is photoreal with 5 seasons and perfectly annotated buildings...! Sooooo happy you chose the Netherlands for this! And early beta testing already... sounds like this one could be released not too far away in the future! Wow, what a day. briansommers
Let me make sure I get this right. photo-real scenery - is this the same as satellite stuff? except of only one season we get all of them? then on top of that, you add in autogen? then what about roads? no more roads cutting into fields, etc? If someone could explain how this works... that would be helpful.
Mark Abdey
Mighty fine looking 'alpha' shots!... looks pretty much ready to roll This is truly a new era for FTX with a forthcoming PNW photoreal too.... You don't need any other packs before you can buy and use this...you can buy this day 1. But if I were you and you haven't experienced any other Orbx flying experience and/or if you want this to blend well with the rest of Europe, start with FTX Global, OpenLC EU and FTX Vector...From there, if you like the look of the Orbx world that will then match this Region, you could expand with the other OpenLCs (such as the very good new Open LC South America) at a minimum or even go on to collect the neighbouring FTX Regions and those further afield from the Netherlands. Good luck with your first Orbx purchase and losing your FTX virginity

Kind regards, Bouwe Up to now FTX regions have always been standalone products that didn't need any other Orbx addon. I am sure this will be the case for FTX Netherlands too. So no other packs needed. You might consider getting at least FTX Global though so the neighboring countries don't look too bad when you fly near the border. But it isn't mandatory. 6 minutes ago, Sid said: It's just great isn't it? I think Netherlands is the perfect ground to start developing this new technology. So not only summer but seasons, no empty roads but traffic on them, and of course no roads cutting through fields or even houses, like with landclass scenery! In short: it is perfected photoreal. It's as real as it gets. Finally.

Brilliant marketing on ORBX end.. now we can buy it all over again, only better and more "realer" in which I'll gladly do for this new photoreal stuff! This is very exciting. I can't imagine doing "real" VFR flights now and bush flying will take on a whole new meaning and I'm guessing in p3d v4.1 sloped runways?
