Unbelievable how much work Nick Cooper is having these days
John Venema replied to Stillwater's topic in General Discussion
Anna Cicognani has been Orbx CEO since October 2019 so she calls the shots on pay rises, but I do agree that Nick is doing a superb job and we’ll discuss it at the next management meeting for sure. -
Is it possible to see TrueEarth ITALY in the future
John Venema replied to simonostaneros's topic in General Discussion
Yes it is very possible. I have wanted to make TE Italy for some time. However we are doing another EU country at the moment. -
What ever happened to FTX EU Cote d'Azur?
John Venema replied to Airlifter's topic in General Discussion
It’s still being developed by Maurizio. Quite clearly it is his labour of love since he’s making everything by hand. -

Superb!!

100 pre-paid copies would only cover about 5% of the development costs. I think people forget how expensive these regions are to make. 2,000 pre-pays and yes, you’d have our attention for sure.

Neil Hill is no longer with us
John Venema replied to Holger Sandmann's topic in The Neil Hill Memorial Lounge
Thanks for dropping in Wendy. Neil was a much respected and loved member of the ‘Orbx family’ and we miss him too. His contributions to the hobby are being enjoyed by tens of thousands of people worldwide so his legacy very much lives on. All our best wishes to you and your family. -
Team UK new projects
John Venema replied to Ed Correia's topic in Orbx Preview Announcements, Screenshots and Videos
Yes all our in-house developed airports are multi-platform these days, so P3D and XP11. -
Rumours of our demise have been greatly exaggerated.

You're looking towards Chichester to Langstone Harbour and Portsmouth. The source imagery shows fallow fields which in fact are that hue of grey at the time the imagery was taken. I use a WIP shader I have been working on with another person for some time and it is not difficult to bring more colour into that view. Here are some screenshots I took last year, the first being the same west facing view towards Portsmouth: X-Plane has a habit of washing out its colours if you stay with the default settings. It's pretty easy to make things 'pop' a lot better and add real depth to the imagery.
