  1. Thank you very much much Lauriebe for you kind words. Indeed that is my very wish as well, but it is very hard at the moment to find the energy.... Cheers Fred
  2. I did some research about C and F temperature scales and found out that only in US and a few other smaller countries use F, which I didn't know Of course you are most comfortable to the system you are used to: If you're an American and you've ever had a conversation with someone from another country about the weather, you've probably been a little confused when he or she says that the afternoon temperature is a nice 21 degrees. To you, that might sound like a chilly winter day, but to them, it's a pleasantly warm springtime temperature. That's because virtually every other country in the rest of the world uses the Celsius temperature scale, part of the metric system, which denotes the temperature at which water freezes as 0 degrees, and the temperature at which it boils as 100 degrees. But the U.S. and a few other holdouts – the Cayman Islands, the Bahamas, Belize and Palau – cling to the Fahrenheit scale, in which water freezes at 32 degrees and boils at 212 degrees. That means that the 21 degrees C temperature that we previously mentioned is the equivalent of a balmy 70 degrees F in the U.S.
  3. Ha ha....a double birthday greeting from you, the first was on October 6th. No problem Karl, I appreciate it double Cheers Fred
  4. Yes, maybe you're right Gerold. Better to stay below and just follow the valley. Cheers Fred
  5. Magnificient shot Martyn, Oh boy, It must be great to fly this plane in real life over those mountains. Cheers Fred
  6. ASKY Airlines is a passenger airline founded on the initiative of West African governments, and has its head office in Lomé, Togo. It operates across several West and Central African countries, operating out of its hub at Lomé-Tokoin Airport. (Source: Wiki) Never seen this bird at Schiphol (EHAM)
  7. Beautiful plane Adam....very nice. Cheers Fred
  8. Well done, Jack, Luckily still a complete green scenery instead of a winterly white one.... Question: How did you mange to bank the plane in #5, while banking the scenery in #6? Maybe with the help of ChasePlane?
  9. Well done, Martyn. I like sim and real life pictures combined for comparising. I had to look it up, because I never heard about it...... Cheers Fred
  10. Thank you, Martyn. Recovery is very slowly....the surgery is now 5 months ago, but one or two years until everything has been normalized is not an exception. I hope the terrible forest fires are not in your neighbourhood.
  11. Happy Birthday from The Netherlands Greg......71 ! I hope you will have a wonderful year in a good health. Cheers Fred
  12. Thank you John, Good wishes are never too late ! Cheers Fred
  13. Here is Peter Puget's ship during the Vancouver Expedition.
  14. Nice shots Anthony. Three weeks ago (October 7th) KLM was celebrating its 100 year birthday, being the oldest airliner company in the world. The first shot is over a lake called "Grevelingenmeer" in Zeeland in the SW of NL, the second is near Rotterdam (EHRD). Cheers Fred
  15. Very good Gerold indeed. I really do like the variety between sim pictures and real photo's. A country too far for us....never been there and never will. Is this the country with all the poisonous little (and some big) creatures, like we saw in a song the other day? Cheers Fred
  16. This is a real low pass over the airport Jack....quite a challenge to fly so low !
  17. Thank you very much Adam, Recovery is going slowly, but it is going forward anyway. Nevertheless it will take a year before 'all systems' are running more or less normal. Cheers Fred
  18. Nice shots Jack. The airliner company has a negative reputation to me, due to the terrible accident a few years ago. Fred
  19. Nice shots Adam, Of course I prefer #2, because a water scene is involved in the picture , but #4 is also not bad at all. Cheers Fred
  20. Dramatic realistic Pete.....beautiful ! I like them all. Cheers Fred
  21. Nice shots Jankees, this C54 Skymaster over the Netherlands. Just for anyone who is interested in the location (as far as I can determine it): #1,2,3 is over the Veluwe, an Area of Outstanding Beauty (AONB) as our British friends call it. #4 is over the Veluwemeer, with the highway A28 on the righthand side. Cheers Fred
  22. Ahhhh...nearly missed the plane, Jack. My attention was only focussed on the harbour in #8 and #9 (Nice scenery nevertheless)
  23. Great shots OND, especially the first one. Fred
  24. Indeed, Martyn, and he will be friendly requested (ordered) to set the engines in reverse, leave the river Vecht and never ever come back. And don't dare to try to make a U-turn in our narrow waterways.... Yes, Chunk, this thread is live again after 1.5 year remain in silence. I know this area so well and my boat Sundancer has sailed the Markermeer so many times... By the way, did you know that opposite the squared castle (Muiderslot) the boat of our former queen Beatrix is berthed (is that correct English?)
