Wonderful scenic set Jack and that livery is a ripper.

Some beautiful weather too, all looking great.:)

Thanks Martyn, I really like this paint job, it's so airbrushed looking.

I love the set Jack and the paint job! Did you find any canyons in northern Illinois to do tours of? :D

Thanks Tim!  Canyon around the high rises I reckon.  :o

Nice shots Jack.

Meigs is special of course in that it was the original default startup airport for Flight Simulator. Although it's only the last 3 years that I more seriously got into flight sims, I did mess around over the years going all the way back to the commodore 64 as a little kid. So when I finally got to Chicago in real life around 10 years ago it was really disappointing to see the airport had closed down :(

For a bit of contrast to your magnificent shots, I thought I would share two shots from my flight out of Meigs recently. A couple of weeks ago I discovered a c64 emulator on PC and thought I would fire up the original FS I played as a little kid.

We've come a long way since then...

Awesome.  Back in the 80’s I was in the Air Force, had an Atari 800 and flew the earliest version and thought it was state of the art.

I never thought it would be as good as it is now.

Thanks for the memories and brilliant work getting it to run in emulation mode!

Sorry, Jack, I forgot to mention the evident: A magnificent level of ground detail in your little flight. Even though the notorious Chicago weather was hiding Sears Tower (yes I still call it this) in the fog...!

Thanks Gerold, I still call it that too.  Old habit and all that.
