  1. It's still there but lower res, as per the default I suspect. But I see there are options online to create orthos for the rock and at least one freeware upgrade of the airport. But Orbx's access to the data didn't include the British territory as I understand it.
  2. Pretty sure you'll be seeing exactly the same thing as you are now. Those road anomalies are part of the way the scenery is displayed, bridges that sit on roads have textures that don't match the underlying photo base. It's a limitation of the sim. And often two adjacent photo tiles will have different contrast and colour and even different apparent resolution. Depends entirely on the source imagery as supplied, either through the Bing maps or some commercial imagery supplier for many of the Orbx sceneries. Anyway if you want any comparison shots taken, post your screenshots here with exact gps coordinates and we can post the full Orbx product screenshot for comparison. My guess is, for the urban areas as you've shown, there won't be any discernible difference.
  3. I didn't test YBBNV2 and Brisbane Landmarks together in P3DV4 because basically V5 is so superior that I never bother with V4 now. However I did just go and fire up V4 and I agree the scenery has a lot of stutters and pauses in V4. All I can say is complex sceneries such as cityscapes and airports together are becoming so detailed that expecting the old FSX tech dressed up as P3DV4 just isn't cutting the mustard any more. And it will only continue to advance in this direction! Maybe invest in V5 and use it for flights in the more demanding scenery areas?
  4. Interesting about the popping buildings you're seeing. Right through testing and even now I don't see any popping of objects or buildings! I have medium to high settings with the objects LOD slider set to 400. As you can see in my signature my system is nowhere near high end. Here's a video I just recorded:
  5. Have to disagree with the OP. One of the most immerse sceneries I've ever seen for flight sim. It's not an architectural simulator, it's a product for flight simming. The priority is fidelity in the airport. To me the rest of the scenery area looks very authentic as a background for the airport scenery, which is what fs scenery has always been about.
  6. Well I just loaded up P3DV4 with NZ North Island active, and the default NZAA, had a good look around in the chopper, flew the length of the runway then around the back of the airport and out into Manukau Harbour and back to the runway and I'm not seeing any lights that don't belong to buildings or streetlamps etc. I suspect these lights are from some other source. If the source was Orbx I would expect them to show up, but there's nothing.
  7. Oh yeah. It's not an Orbx product though, so Flightbeam itself would be the obvious place to start.
  8. Just tested this, I have Open LC Europe, Germany North and South, and Vector, all active. Load times normal, about 1 - 1 1/2 minutes in the R22 from the welcome screen. My guess is the problem is a mismatch or conflict between the various sceneries you have and the Orbx scenery, and if that is the case there's not much that Orbx can do to help. In this case I would recommend unticking every bit of non-default scenery in your libraries and just have the default P3D scenery plus Open LC Europe, Germany North and South, and Vector, and see what happens. If it still doesn't load properly there's maybe a deeper issue at work. I remember waaay back in the VOZ and OZx days there were scenery crashes caused by duplicates in the GPS databases used in the sim and some addon GPS instruments that had their own databases. Problems like that are nest to impossible to track down, I hope yours isn't as hard!
  9. If you search the forums for similar issues I think you'll find posts where it's shown to be an MSFS bug and shows up in many places.
  10. You don't need to uninstall if you have the disk space, just untick the regions in the Scenery Library and then they will be available to bring back into service should you decide you need them.
  11. Hi Some problems with the Asobo updates aren't easy to fix. It's unlikely that the company (Gaya) is uninterested but it's quite likely they too are waiting for information about how problems to do with WU6 can be fixed. Anyway as you pointed out Gaya support in not available here at the Orbx forum so I'm not sure why you posted here.
  12. I guess it depends on how much changes! If the tech is straightforward Orbx has always provided free updates, or discounted when a scenery is given a makeover. However if XP12 requires a lot of new files then Orbx can't be expected to do free updates. Without more info from LR it's anyone's guess.
  13. I am thinking of converting my FSX SSD over to an MSFS scenery drive, I haven't fired up FSX for months now, and having the scenery I use on an SSD should reduce the loading times to half what they are now...
  14. I bit the bullet and bought a 4TB drive, all MSFS scenery and importantly Orbx backups are on it, plus a bit of other stuff. Currently 2TB free of the 3.63 TB capacity. Orbx backups take up one TB of the used space which includes all the P3D, X Plane and FSX backup files as well.. Orbx in its entirety uses another 433GB. MSFS itself is on a 465GB SSD which is half full.
  15. You probably need to turn on Bing to get the required ground imagery
  16. Ever since the introduction of sliders in the sim, possibly back before FS2004 I don't remember, it has been an expectation that all sceneries may or may not require a bit of adjustment in graphics settings. There's no way around it, expectations or not. All scenery products are developed to allow a range of settings to suit a range of computers, and installed sceneries and other add-ons. You can fly the R22 into many sceneries at 50fps, add weather, a PMDG airliner, nav programs etc, it might struggle to reach 15 fps. If the scenery was dumbed down to the highly intensive uses, and I wanted to fly my R22 around, I'd be pretty annoyed I couldn't have settings to take advantage of the simplicity of my settings.
  17. You mean the P3D menu or Orbx Central menu? It won't appear in the Orbx Central menu because it hasn't been purchased from Orbx. If it's installed correctly it will of course appear in the P3D aircraft selection menu.
  18. I've noted that the transponder lights up on some aircraft if you accept the atc code with the menu choice. After that it works properly. I think the Optica works this way. Slightly annoying but not a deal breaker for me.
  19. I'm pretty sure the buildings that aren't modelled are the MSFS ones. And to be honest what I'm seeing in your screenshots is very similar particularly for a flight sim. The angle of the screenshots makes the GE scenery look less flat in parts but if you look closely there aren't many areas where there are significant differences.
  20. I've not had much luck with flight plans. However I believe if you use Little NavMap and select the proper MSFS format to save the plan it does work properly. My Plan G plans don't they point me to some top of climb point not even shown on the map.
  21. I have YPAD, YPPF and Adelaide Landmarks installed. I just loaded a flight in the CRJ700, first loading of the plane so it probably took longer as they say in the startup, anyway about 5 minutes for the blue bar to creep across and I'm now flying across Adelaide. Last time I had blue bar issues it was because I had modified an LOD or tree size file. Now I just leave every MSFS file alone. I'm not sure if a config and content delete in MSFS, as well as turn off rolling and manual cache etc would help but you could certainkly try those options. Anyway the result of my test is that the Adelaide scenery works with all Orbx sceneries installed.
  22. The flat runway issue is just an inconsistency of the MSFS scenery with the real world. In the real world the runway is higher in the middle. In MSFS the mesh puts the middle of the runway a bit lower than the ends. Without extensive terraforming that would probably introduce many more issues, airports have to either be on a flatten, or follow the mesh in the sim, as far as I know. It's certainly not enough of an issue to make landings unrealistic, which would be the case somewhere like Courchevel. It's a fantastic piece of scenery and should always be appreciated as such!
  23. In what way sorry? Ive checked the airport against Google Earth and YouTube approach videos and it looked right to me.
  24. My family came from Auckland I've spent quite a bit of time there. For me I must vehemently disagree with the assertion that it's not up to scratch. Flying fron Ardmore up to the city, there's Rangitoto proud to the east, I found my uncle's house in Glendowie, followed the suburb around to St Heliers and my Dad's house, then the harbourside drive to the city, the familiar skyline culminating in the Auckland Sky Tower. Orbiting the city, so many familiar buildings and streets where I've spent many hours walking, though no steam rising from the Tepid Baths! Then up to the top end of the city to Mt Eden and further on to One Tree Hill, and back over the Domain and the War Memorial Museum. Past the city skyline again with the plethora of watercraft and the Harbour Bridge, climbing out as I head west looking back over my shoulder over Avondale, down Blockhouse Bay Road to the Manukau Harbour and NZAA in the distance. Still probably the most spread out city for its population in the world, only a few high rise buildings, the contours of the landscape amongst the coves and bays of the harbours... I really feel like I'm there. Sorry OP but without screenshots and specifics I cannot imagine what you refer to in your post.
