  1. A quick search of the forums came up with this answer: Hi Install Google Authenticator on your phone. In Orbx Central select: Settings My Account Two-Factor Authentication (Enable) Follow the instructions from there.
  2. The blue line problem is because of an incompatible file somewhere, presumably either in your community folder, or an attempt to change tree height or LOD distance in one of the files. Until a few months back such mods were tolerated, no longer. So, rename your community folder to something like Community-X and create a new Community folder leaving it empty. If your sim starts now, the problem is in one of the folders in the original Community folder and trial and error is probably the only way you're ever going to find out which one. If however, with nothing in the Community folder, the sim still refuses to load, I think it's reinstall MSFS time. That's what i had to do, and all I had dome was change some tree heights and save the file. Once saved with a different time stamp the sim won't load!
  3. You can imagine yes but I don't think the projects are related :-)
  4. They fixed it for the previous update then it seems Asobo broke it again. My guess is that the devs are waiting for some meaningful instructions or information from Asobo before trying for another fix. In the meantime I will just be accepting the ATC via the menu even though the screen is blank.
  5. Yes I got that but at the same time I think the role of the devs is to make scenery and correct errors, and this is not an error in the scenery. If the error is introduced by Asobo, it's not necessarily the job of the dev to respond to questions about the problem. Other support staff can help, the dev is probably devoting all their efforts in creating the next scenery. If an Asobo created problem has a solution, the dev will, I'm sure, be passed any fixes that can be applied to the product.
  6. It has essentially been included in the World Update for Germany etc, hence it's no longer offered for sale. I think the reason it still appears on Orbx Central might be as support for those who purchased it before it was withdrawn from sale and wish to retain it in their scenery library, there's no way to hide it from people who don't own it I'm guessing.
  7. I have to disagree most strongly. The dev team spent many many hours developing this airport to a high standard and made many many alterations in response to beta testing and in response to some performance issues after release. At the time is was developed using the tools provided by the MSFS developers the cars were a working feature of the airport and performed as intended. Then Asobo in their wisdom made changes to the coding that resulted in many objects, not just cars, only appearing as you get unreasonably close, including many taxiway signs, windsocks, fence elements and a lot of ground equipment at airports. These cars are just more visible. To test the effect of the popping cars during a normal circuit I just completed a RH circuit from 25 and a LH circuit from 07. The RH circuit I didn't notice the cars until I was on downwind and as I noticed them I looked away briefly at the instruments and when I looked back they were in place and no longer a distraction. The LH circuit from 07, the carpark started to fill as I got to the point where I needed to start the descent and I concentrated on the instruments etc as I should and the popping cars didn't really figure. During RPT operations and non-circuit work, when you're departing or arriving straight out, the carparks don't even figure in normal scenery and cockpit viewing unless you're fixated on them. I'm sure eventually the issue will be resolved but while Asobo continue to make these sort of changes to the coding it is unreasonable to expect the developers to drop everything and try and figure out a solution when they have been broadsided by the changes made to compromise the sim for the XBox crowd.
  8. After experiencing MSFS water I too have turned off water effects. Once you get used to it it's actually much more realistic for 90% of the scenery I fly over, ie inland water, and I rarely do ocean flights, and if I am flying up the coast the surf waves are completely unrealistic anyway.
  9. I would be thinking that the answer isn't simple and may not be covered in the SDK. For example, in a recent test, I noted that in normal monitor view all the cars in an airport display correctly, but in VR a bunch of cars flash strobe-like, and another bunch of cars display as shapeless blobs until directly overhead. There's no clue for the devs why this is that I'm aware of.
  10. You can safely shut down Orbx Central any time, download will continue when you open it again. Slow downloads have been shown to be almost entirely due to the internet service providers throttling data flows they perceive to be torrents or P2P, it's entirely outside Orbx's control. Some people have success by restarting Orbx Central, restarting modems, or contacting their ISP. I believe that most ISP caches are refreshed every 48 hours so mostly download problems reset eventually.
  11. Can't you click on the little cross at the end of the little line showing the download? That should stop the download and it shouldn't start again
  12. No idea but if you use 500fpm climb rate at 80kts and 95-100 kts cruise (which is about what you see at 2200 rpm) you'd be close enough to make a usable plan.
  13. The cable car will come I believe when the tools to make one in the SDK become available (I think that's what the devs said)
  14. I just ran another test flew up the west coast looking out towards the city, then turned over Piha and headed ofr the city, not a single spike did I see. I then repeated the flight with settings at Ultra and LOD at 400, not a single spike did I see. I do have the NZ mesh installed I don't know if that makes a difference.
  15. It's possible my threshold is lower than what is becoming the norm, I might well have seen fps a bit under 20, I can't remember. Having grown up with Bruce Artwick's fs on the Amiga, seeing 2-4 fps, then right through to FSX and beyond, anything over 17 fps in short bursts is ok by me! Maybe I'm old school.
  16. I flew from over the Tasman right through to close to the CBD. No one else is reporting these spikes so maybe it's sn Asobo issue. I'm pretty sure there's no mesh in the scenery, just the buildings.
  17. No one in the beta testing team reported anything other than good to great performance with all these packs. Generally we test with MSFS and Orbx products only, with some proven third party addons. I don't know your various setups nor the settings you use but you can always run a test with just the scenery in question in your community folder (many posts here on how to rename the community folder), and then some tweaking of the settings in MSFS. Forinstance initially I had a bit of stuttering in some of the more complex sceneries, I reduced the first slider that sets the resolution down from 100 to 80, a slight difference in screen textures but a big difference in performance. Any my old i7 4790K is very midrange nowadays.
  18. Hi Didn't think I had seen any spikes around Auckland despite intensive testing. I suspect you might have another add-on that is interfering with the mesh. Default MSFS with the Auckland City Pack installed shows none of the mesh spikes, as you can see from my screenshots below. I don't have any other addons except NZAA and NZAR. My LOD is 400 and photogrammetry is on. One shot is from over the Tasman to the West, the other is east of Waiheke Island to the east.
  19. It was fixed in update 5 but since update 6 it hasn't worked for me. Using the ATC command to acknowledge the transponder code works, so at least ATC flights are still possible.
  20. Try the headphone setting in the Sound options, it will reduce the engine noise to simulate what you will hear with noise cancelling headphones.
  21. I'm not seeing that, from what I remember it looked OK in testing. If you want a short cut to try an addon, at flightsim.to there's a Mt Eden addon in the NZ scenery. Might be worth downloading that, as far as I know it will work with the Auckland scenery.
  22. Is this with photogrammetry on? Looks like something is being called long before it should. I haven't seen anything similar. Can you take a screenshot zoomed right in when you see them? It's ahard to tell from those screenshots what we're looking at.
  23. IF you hasve the previous I'm pretty sure you get a discount on 7, but maybe only from v5?
  24. I wouldn't be able to use MSFS to my satisfaction without FSUIPC7, it's that good. Just sayin'
  25. Pretty sure FSUIPC7 allows for you to tailor individual quirks like that in the program. I'm finding it invaluable for managing the wide range of control sensitivities encountered between Asobo and add-on aircraft.
