  1. There's a great program called Netlimiter, allows individual program limits. So for instance you could set the limit for Orbx Central to 3MB/s while MSFS still gets full throttle. https://www.netlimiter.com/
  2. Many many threads here show that d/l speed problems are almost exclusively (like 99%) in the network and outside Orbx's control, and while the odd user has problems there's no problems for anyone else reported. Generally problems seem to sort themselves out after a day or so.
  3. I've got the 3060ti running MSFS and P3D at 4K (3840 x 2160) and I rarely see less than 30fps anywhere, and I'm locked at 30 fps in P3D. Your card will be about 10-20% better performance than mine.
  4. In MSFS select YSSY as your airport, select your plane and select Go Flying. Head north from YSSY and you'll see Sydney City and the Harbour Bridge etc, and go exploring. There's no actual entry in MSFS for the Sydney Cityscape, so Sydney Airport (YSSY) is where you start.
  5. Australia will look hardly any different across most of the country, because MSFS doesn't need a True Earth product for photo scenery. There will be some cityscape improvements and I imagine some airports, and of course some of the more iconic tourist attractions. I'm hoping the joke that passes for an airport tetminal at Canberra will see at least a little bit of love.
  6. I use a program called Tree Size Free that quickly and graphically shows me disk usage. Easy to identify where leftover install files etc are hogging the space.
  7. At this time of year I doubt it's a priority item. Particularly as it is something that appears to have originated in an update by LM. Fixing problems like this is not just a matter of running the batch and then uploading the files to Orbx Central. As is the case in any computer environment, fixes have to be tested under multiple scenarios and users, and if there are multiple fixes they all need to be combined in a patch.
  8. Search for similar topics to do with files not extracting. I know Nick has suggested fixes but I'm not able to remember what they are. Something to do with the disk space and scratch disks that the download needs to write to, typically up to 3x the size of the download.
  9. Yes there's a problem that seems to have been caused by the last couple of Asobo updates. I don't think it's an easy fix because the behaviour seems random. For instance the whole of the last couple of weeks my transponder displayed normally, but last night I went for a fly and the screen was blank. The good news is that the transponder works. I clicked in the code that was given and even though the display didn't show it, the code was accepted by ATC. Normally I just click the ATC screen to confirm the code anyway so it doesn't make a whole lot of difference to not have the screen. I'm sure that once the devs are able to work out what Asobo did to make it not display, they will issue a fix.
  10. Can you download Google Authenticator from your app store and then follow these steps to get your 2FA back? https://support.orbxdirect.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002643316-Setting-Up-Two-Factor-Authentication-2FA-
  11. And of course Orbx Central allows partial downloads, so if you need to spread the download over a few evenings it'll just resume where you left off
  12. And , just quietly, a lot of the MSFS scenery and airports are of a reasonable standard out of the box so you might find you can be more selective in the ones you have to have
  13. Perhaps. But on the list of priorities I think it would be waaaay down the list. Personally I don't have a problem with both appearing in the products list, I am able to work out for myself that because I have V2 installed I don't need to have V1, but... should I choose to reinstall V1, maybe for an historical flight, i have the option to return to V1.
  14. Had a look at the pictures, can't really see what you're trying to show. You're in an airliner, presumably at cruising height, looking out the front to a horizon that is probably lost in the haze. Can you see the scenery if you look out and down?
  15. The Orbx devs have formed a union now and part of their workplace award is they get double the Christmas holidays that the construction industry gets, so already they're lounging around Acapulco until the end of January, and now a recent amendment states that they down tools until after Easter as soon as the first chocolate eggs appear in supermarkets. So who can possibly say when this airport will see the light of day?
  16. Do you mean the blue bar stops moving and the flight won't load? If so then it's almost certain that another add-on is causing a conflict. MSFS is very sensitive to a whole range of conflicts in add on software, and freezing during loading is the result. To confirm that the scenery is installed correctly you need to follow the following steps: Rename your Community folder to CommunityX or something similar. Create a new empty Community folder. Move only the KVNY entry from the CommunityX folder to the new Community folder. MSFS will now only load the MSFS sceneries and KVNY. All other addons will be disabled. If KVNY loads successfully, then you have a conflict that needs to be tracked down. You can do that by loading all payware sceneries back into the Community folder, KVNY should still work. Then move your freeware addons in small bundles until KVNY stops loading. Your culprit can then be easily traced. Good luck. EDIT. I see below that the scenery is from the Marketplace, and consequently would appear in the Official folder. The above suggestions only relate to purchases from the Orbx store.
  17. Not a dev so I don't know the nuts and bolts but I would guess that the textures are just part of the XBox optimisation (and pc as well of course) that allows frame rates to be so good on even mid level machines. It's important to maintain a sense of imagination in any flight sim, suspension of disbelief I call it. If you see something that ruins the immersion, look the other way. At least that's how I enjoy all the scenery I have in the sim.
  18. You may need to install again, I did when I got my new cpu Mobo recently. But the process can be made a lot shorter by having your files already in the location you specify. In other words, create a new library if you were using a library, and move the old files into the new library. Then when you install, the installer recognises the files are there and takes a few seconds to create the new link. If all your files were in the main P3D location, there would be an Orbx folder in the old P3D location filled with the Orbx files (and possible 3rd party vendor folders as well. Once again, copy these to the new P3D install and if sync simulator doesn't work, installing should be a quick process.
  19. It was a separate download, not part of the scenery. I seem to remember there was a control panel to switch airshow mode on and off. But it's so long ago my recollection might not be perfect.
  20. I seem to remember from a year or more back that the error logs in P3D were developer tools only and did not necessarily represent any faulty in the scenery, and people were advised to disable error log reporting. The real test is the scenery itself, if it doesn't show any missing textures then it's almost certainly working as designed.
  21. It was discontinued years ago shortly after release because the performance was terrible. I don't even have the package myself any more because all that old scenery was through Flightsim Store and can't be activated now.
  22. That is where I would be looking for a solution. XP itself and the Orbx scenery don't show this effect.
  23. I think the difference is that AuV1 is no longer supported, whereas YBBNV1 is still supported.
  24. I just did a couple of dozen circuits in the Lancair Legacy with the P3D sliders just about all over to the right, first few with the default P3D scenery, smooth as slik all the way, then i loaded True Earth N and S California HD, set the texture res to 2048, and once again smooth as silkall the way, I then found I didn't have traffic enabled so I put most of the air and ground traffic to 25 - 50% and this time the animation wasn't quite as smooth but I wouldn't call it stuttering, and once again several circuits into R15 and not even a hint of a pause or a stutter all the way in to the runway. A mate of mine runs the same rig as you so I can ask him to check KBUR (assuming he has the Orbx version) and see if he gets any pauses.
  25. As said above, it's purely a matter of the old FSX engine being pushed beyond its dedign capabilities. That it has done as well as it has is a miracle. But... I would reduce my LOD radius to low, my autogen radius to the same, knock the buildings and trees sliders to high, turn off all traffic, road and AI, special effects to low, untick all add on airports within 100nm, and if using a complex airliner, try the approach in a default GA plane. I remember years ago one of the pay ware airliners caused pauses, and even managed to slow time down, during late final. I think it was the Dash8. Just mentioned that because it can be apparently unrelated factors that cause these pauses, nothing is off the table.
