Popular Post bernd1151
Ok, that might be a slight exaggeration, because it’s not Antarctica that is out of tea. But at Rothera, the British Antarctic Research Station, researchers had to switch to coffee, as their tea supply was lost after a small fire in one of their storage containers. Help was needed, fast. As luck had it, the Rothera team got notified that the famous tea-clipper Cutty Sark, with her belly full of the finest Ceylon first flush Darjeeling, was just approaching Cape of Good Hope. Immediately a radio was sent to her captain to change course south. Luckily this was accepted. After a couple of days, the Rothera station got her old Short Sunderland underway to look out for the ship. First, it’s careful maneuvering through the small icefield near the station. Hard to believe, but some of them are really drifting After some thirty minutes in the air, we finally spot her And here she is… In all her glory, under full sail The captain has to be careful, the first small iceberg passes lready close by Don’t hit anything, your hull was not built for this It gets darker and the ship gets closer to the Rothera station Close to the station, Cutty Sark drops its anchor and sails. She has to wait for the Polarstern to guide her through the icefield (This Cutty Sark is equipped with an engine) Finally, Cutty Sark is safely moored at her unloading station (Scenery and icebergs are by Aerosoft, available here on the Orbx site, Short Sunderland and Cutty Sark are a port over by yours truly) 9

ikbenik
Fantastic serie of shots and storyline. I was not aware that the surrounding of the Station is largely surrounded by relatively open see. So I suppose in summertime of the southern hemisphere. I had posted same area a while ago and all the surrounding was completely covered with ice and snow, have to check in other season. The Cutty Sark is fine modelled and with sails down and crew on the masts a marvelous scenery addition. One of the most lovely screenshot-postings I see here

We need one. And a barrel of rum would be a fine surprise, we've had enough tea the last couple of weeks 3 hours ago, John Mac said: Bernd, my opinion only, your best set of shots and storyline yet! Sniper31
That was an absolutely fun and exciting adventure that we got to enjoy with you Bernd! Excellent shots depicting the storyline as it unfolds in the cold seas of the region. I admit, I was concerned about the wooden hull of the Cutty Sark in those dangerous waters. Glad to see she arrived safely and in good order to deliver her cargo. Landon 2

Stillwater
A fantastic post, bernd, and the pictures of the Cutty Sark look absolutely great. The water with a little foam on it is just so realistic! The sailship seems to be a "must" for the simulator, but - wait - didn´t we start up with this as a flight simulation? Amazing. bernd1151
Many thanks for your kind comment, Gerold! 2 hours ago, Stillwater said: Is it an old freeware? Yes, it is an old FS9 freeware that some kind person had converted a few years back to native FSX standard. That made it possible for me to port it over to MSFS. An FS9 product would not have worked.
