caleb1
Hi all, Sorry for the delay in getting these to you guys. After I got home and got back into the busy-at-home-life, I totally forgot about these. But here they are! The photo's you've all been waiting for: Exploring some of Orbx's airports of Northwest Washington airports - In Real Life: Since there are so many, I will post them in parts, posting a new part as a reply to this thread every few days. Also due to there being so many, I will hold off on a narration to each picture - if you would like to know more details about certain picture(s) let me know, and I will be glad to tell. Enjoy! Stillwater
These shots look so amazing, caleb, i would need more narration and at least i need to know where they were taken.
caleb1
1 hour ago, Stillwater said: These shots look so amazing, caleb, i would need more narration and at least i need to know where they were taken. The main flight path of the flight shown in the screenshots was: 1. Take off out of Skagit Rgnl KBVS 2. Fly northwest for a little bit. 3. Turn north and fly along the east side of Orcas island 4. Do a touch and go at Orcas Airport 5. Continue flying west to be continued....... Hope this helps give some idea of where they were taken. I will add a map like this in all my future parts of this series.

olderndirt
Couple of these are a rivet counters delight. Great to see how they look in real life - gives me the impression we may be over autogened on buldings in some areas.
Rodger Pettichord
Hey Caleb. Looks like you had a real treat. Thanks for sharing it with us!
VH-KDK
What a wonderful experience that must have been. Thanks for sharing and some form of description will be most welcome on future posts. I recognised Orcas but it goes to show how little I have visited Skagit. I drove past Lilydale a few weeks ago and it was my intention to stop and take some photos, with the intention of doing a comparison post, but it was teeming down with rain so that opportunity went west. andy1252
wonderful set of shots, Caleb, and thanks for sharing them. Fascinating to see the real world shots of these places and realise that I feel like I know them already, and that says a whole lot about the wonders of ORBX. Slick9
Hey Caleb, thnx for posting man. I've flown extensively in this area in both FSX and P3Dv4, as soon as i saw the KORS pictures I knew where the pictures were taken. I've always wondered what the area looks like in real life, thanks a million for showing me!!! ORBX, rocks!!! Richard

caleb1
Thanks for the comments everyone. Here is the next part. These photos start where the others leave off and include a flyover of Roche Harbor Airport, and a small field on San Juan island (I forget which one, I think it might have been schoolhouse field), and KFHR Friday Harbor, then continuing back east a bit making our way back to KBVS. Although no landings were made at KFHR on this flight, on one of the other flights we did land there and you will see those soon. Enjoy!
Jack Sawyer
Well Caleb, I can say I'm envious but very happy for you. These are marvelous photos and as I looked at them I couldn't help but thinking how close my settings are to these and how good Orbx's stuff is. Please post more, I'll bet you had a wonderful time! Here is the next part: After overflying KFHR Friday Harbor we headed back east toward Skagit, overflying the Anacortes area and then approaching KBVS Skagit Regional. Jack Sawyer
What another incredible set of photos Caleb, this is a dream trip, I’m glad for you! I love all those trees, so beautiful and inviting to me. And one thing I’m now mor relieved at the settings in my P3D sim because mine looks like your real world photos. That blue water is gorgeous. caleb1
Here is the next part. Starting where the last part left off, this part includes pictures of the landing at KBVS, which was the end of the first day of flying, in which all the previous pictures showed. Then, in this part there will be the start of some new pictures from the second day of flying. Enjoy! ----------------------------End Day 1 of flying---------------------------- The second day of flying starts at KBVS Skagit Regional airport, and we fly east up the Skagit Valley, over what was formerly WA56 Israel's Farm Airport, towards 3W5 Concrete Municipal Airport. The pictures will then continue in the next part. ----------------------------Begin Day 2 of flying---------------------------- Thanks for looking! caleb1
Thanks for the kind comments everyone. Here's some more! This was probably some of my favorite parts of flying in this area. The landing at 3W5 Concrete and then the Flight up the valley right near 3W5 (not sure what it's called). The big mountain you see is Mount Baker, in case your are wondering. After that we fly back down the Skagit Valley, pass over KBVS Skagit Regional, then fly out to Friday Harbor, but that will be shown in the next part. Enjoy! I would LOVE to live in this house at the end of the runway at 3W5. Thanks for looking!
Jack Sawyer
That's magnificent Caleb, what good fortune you have. I enjoyed them all and yes, I'd love to live in that house too.
