I chose the nearest Global Freeware airport to KACK for a short flight.

I didn't even look up the name.

1.nx1.jpg

The obligatory few images at KACK. I am a little out of place with the 172 against the biz jets.

2.nx2.jpg

Another clear day as far as visibility goes but a little overcast.

3.nx3.jpg

Climbing away with the airport buildings seen here.

4.nx4.jpg

The boat storage at Nantucket Marine.

5.nx5.jpg
The Cessna is over Hummock Pond with Clark Cove to the right.

6.nx6.jpg

Eel Point

7.nx7.jpg

Tuckernuck Island with MA72 airstrip.

8.nx8.jpg

Now at Martha's Vinyard and over MA44 Tradewind strip.

9.nx9.jpg

KMVY.

10.nx10.jpg

Making a 180 at West Tisbury to land on rwy 06.

11.nx11.jpg

Not too many biz jets here today. 16500 people live here with the population swelling to over 100,000 in the summer.

Very nice shots and lots of interesting panorama Martyn. Wasn't one of the Kennedys flying to Martha's Vineyard when disaster struck?

Regards

Don

Thank you Don.

Well remembered about JFK Junior. I have seen the Air Crash Investigation episode regarding the accident but I had forgotten he was flying to Martha's Vinyard.:(

Also his uncle, Ted, was involved in a fatal accident at Chappaquiddick, which is linked to  Martha's Vinyard by bridge, in 1969.;)

Strange coincidence, but I watched that episode of ACI only last night.

You nailed it Martyn, wonderful tour.  Martha's has a lot of history, named after President Washington's wife Martha.  And to live there, well unless you're extremely wealthy forget it.  It's the San Fransisco of the east coast.

It is funny how it goes isn't it.

Also the featured article on Wikipedia was a speech by Robert Kennedy!:o

Nice grouping of shots. There's a good amount of detail at the Martha's Vineyard airport. Once again the Orbx Freeware team delivers an airport worth checking out. Bravo!

Cheers Mike, we are so lucky with all these excellent freeware airports.:)

I am sure the 100 $-burger costs you 300 in that area... !

I doubt they even serve burgers there.  Only rich people food, a plate with food that’s “gourmet” yet its microscopic in size.
