  1. I can't understand what Sam Scene are trying to say on the Orbxdirect page, I think you might need to contact them directly to get the information you want: This product has been produced by SamScene3D. For SamScene3D product support, please to go https://samscene.com
  2. Interesting. I was always under the impression that the airport surfaces are supposed to be 'hard' which means they are what the aircraft sits on, not the underlying mesh. Perhaps Asobo has only hardened the runway here not the rest of the tarmac?
  3. I didn't check apron behaviour, so it might be there for me. I'll have a look later, but in reality I never use external view and tend to start flights on the runway when it's not a fully modelled airport.
  4. I've just loaded up a test flight at PAVD with the Alaska mesh installed and I see no problems at this airport. The only issue I see around the area is that some of the land textures appear to go into the water, which is a common issue with MSFS. I also didn't see any evidence of mesh popping during a circuit over the town and back to the airport.
  5. I'm nearly finished the southern France bush trip from Bordeaux to Megeve and wow what a trip! If you have time, do it! One of the airfields is almost impossible but I made it in and out, you'll know it when you get there. Anyway a bit further on is Corchevel high up in the Alps, you probably know it, with its steep runway, but I'll bet you didn't know that Saudia flies one of its large passenger jets (B777 maybe? I forgot to check). Yep, got to the top of the runway to park and there's this massive wide body airliner there. I suspect the ground crew were there to dismantle it and take it out piece by piece. Methinks Asobo might have forgotten to select the right attributes for the tarmac parking there
  6. For P3D? I have it and I don't regret my purchase, I use it for the camera shake effects rather than the camera settings. If there's no demo then I'd be looking at Google and Youtube for user reviews and make your decision based on what you read and see.
  7. When I put my downloaded files (not Orbx) into the Community folder I don't use extract, I just drag the file into the Community Folder via drag and drop. Just about every download has the folder ready to drag when you double click on it and Winzip or WinRAR opens their window, once in a blue moon you have to go down one level to the correct folder, which should contain a couple of json files and the Content info etc.
  8. I put all my files back because quite a few icons on the desktop changed to default style so the files are obviously referenced by Windows
  9. Flightsim airports are generally point in time products unless a dev has a particular desire to keep a product updated. So generally an airport will remain as released unfortunately. But no harm in asking!
  10. @Nick Cooper 3 more posts like this as well...
  11. Sometimes they recommend a power supply for peripherals running on USB, my VR headset has this, but I haven't heard of a yoke requiring any power. Perhaps you could post a picture of your problem, that way we can see what you might need.
  12. I can't imagine there's any need to have any msi or msp files that are in your installer folder, as they only contain the files to install programs, updates etc, not the actual exe files. I think you'd be pretty safe in deleting all the msi and msp files in that folder. I'd keep any exe files though. The only downside might be a need to re-download an installer that W10 might need in the future but with updates happening all the time the ca\hances of an msi being current aren't that great anyway. As a test I just cut all my Installer folder content out to a temp folder in another drive, so the C Drive folder is empty now. It'll be interesting to see if there are any issues. My money is on none at all.
  13. A couple of screenshots from Orbx Central showing what you see might be helpful.
  14. An unconventional 'circuit' in the great little Terrainy Studios Vans RV-8 (available at Orbxdirect) into a new air park inSouth Australia. Enjoy!
  15. Without hand colouring I don't think there's any way to get away from green and blue roads in the scenery. The colour is somehow in the source imagery. My guess is that the roads were possibly wet or moist, or it was overcast on the day the imagery was photographed. But it might be something in the filters used in the cameras, which are designed for aerial surveys primarily, rather than visual colour balancing.
  16. I went for the top of the range from Microsoft Store. Worth every penny.
  17. I haven't seen any mention of it coming in to testing so I think the short answer is no. Sorry.
  18. Yes I agree with Nick. As far as I know, your computer will be just like two physical computers, the boot process means that you go into a separate registry for each boot option, the files in the other boot remain invisible to your cpu, gpu etc.
  19. I'm also getting the 404 when I go to the OrbxDirect page. I can install it from Orbx Central but it might be just because I'm a beta tester. Probably just a glitch in the system , Ed should be able to advise. @Ed Correia
  20. The title says it all... an unusual tour of Canberra in MSFS. Click the Youtube link and watch it in 1080p resolution.
  21. I seem to remember that the TE scenery is dependent on what imagery is available from a supplier, and as a result some areas that could have looked better with some adjustments, can't, because the imagery purchase doesn't include anything outside the defined area. It's a Catch 22, the scenery edge must be somewhere, and no matter where it is someone will always wish it to be a little bit further over.
  22. There's a free add-on at flightsim.to that allows you to fly the tunnel
  23. I'm sure any of their high level systems could be ordered with more than 32GB, just pay the extra for the RAM. Is there an advantage in more than 32GB for an MSFS and general use computer? A quick forum search suggests there's no advantage, and 64GB is still in the realm of high end video editing/rendering etc.
  24. Because people who know, live in or visit an area or an airport are often keen to see extra realism and detail.
