NZMF - The Jewel in the Crown

Just had time for a quick look and the scenery indeed looks superb.

One word of warning. Others can hopefully confirm but, as far I can tell, the Orbx NZ mesh also needs to be disabled for the scenery to display correctly.

Not surprising for a scenery of this type which has clearly been meticulously build upon a specific mesh!

All the best,

John

Purchased myself Adam. Wifey and I planning a trip next month. Soooo excited, hopefully doing a Queenstown Milford plane trip!! Thanks Adam.

Cheers

Graeme :)

Good plan, Graeme. Consider to stay 2 nights in Milford Sound Lodge, to have enough time for hiking, kayaking and the obvious boat tour. Do not forget to reserve tables for dinner in their fabulous restaurant.

Can confirm have booked 3 nights at the Lodge next month Gerold! Restaurant is closed for renovations :( Also 3 nights in Queenstown, just one night to find somewhere. Counting down the days :)

Have you been in Queenstown before, Graeme? Sure you will drive the new gondola, and book two luge rides as well. There is a good Kiwi encounter Zoo just down the exit of the gondola. Looking for a hike? Drive through Glenorchy to the end of Routeburn Track to walk until Routeburn Flats. Ya must have Pizza at Winnie’s and breakfast at Bespoke Kitchen. More ideas needed?

OK, I´ll try to cut it short. Milford: Rosco´s Milford Kayaks are already depicted in the scenery, worth a morning tour. You can also take a water taxi with Fjordlandoutdoors, they bring you to the end of Milford track for a relaxing hike (and they also take you back). In Queenstown you may also consider to make a reservation in the Blue Kanu. If you already have some other villages on your itinary, do not hesitate to post the names or screenshots here...

Thank you Gerold (and Adam). Just realised we have four nights booked at the Milford Lodge so plenty of time to consider your recommendations. We love hiking and kayaking so will definitely be doing these. Eight days in total so do not want to try and pack too much into it, can do the rest another trip. Thanks so much Gerold !!!

All booked. Four nights in Queenstown and four at Milford Lodge. As said previously, not trying to pack too much into a short trip. We're hoping to return another day. Hire car reserved, I "flew" the road route on Orbx Mesh and decided we needed a bit of petrol grunt to climb the valley foothills. Looks like a spectacular drive.

Counting down........

Cheers

Great to read all this. We drove from Queenstown via Mossburn and Te Anau, where we fuelled the car (and ourselves with a great belated breakfast). Then you are ready for the Milford Highway... We now have one less night in Queenstown and have booked Te Anau for one night. Decided it would be nice to break the Queenstown to Milford drive to two leisurely drives. Thanks Gerold :)

Have you also seen the keas flying around, another nice touch with this scenery.   Not sure if an actual bird strike is possible in MSFS 2020  but there are certainly a few keas flying around the airstrip.

Another fantastic scenery add-on from NZA.  Big thumbs up for this one.

Belated thanks Gerald. That was one of our most epic, enjoyable holidays. I absolutely love this part of NZ, the scenery in real life is spectacular. For us , living in the subtropics, winter or autumn is appealing as we don't experience the winter beauty. We'll be back :)
