Rodger Pettichord Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 Hi all. In our ongoing quest to remain lucid, most Forum members partake of mental acuity aids--puzzles, problem-solving, spatial manipulation drills, and the like. In my never-ending effort to serve this Forum, I have devised a special acuity aid just for our readers. Best of luck to you. Stay sharp! THIS WEEK'S MEANINGLESS TOPIC: Special Forum Mental Acuity Drill. (Score of ten equals sound mind. Anything less indicates rapid deterioration) 1. WHICH OF THE ARROWS BELOW IS POINTED IN THE CORRECT DIRECTION? 2. WHICH IMAGE BELOW IS UNLIKE THE OTHERS? 3. REARRANGE THE FOLLOWING SHAPES SO THEY FORM A SQUARE: 4. UNSCRAMBLE THE FOLLOWING LETTERS SO THEY FORM A WORD: ikzinhplayremstvfuzdamagvwqojamaybcx 5. WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING IS THE RIGHT ANSWER? A. WHY? B. WHY NOT? C. BECAUSE. D. SEZ WHO?
Stillwater Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 I still work on #2. But two of the other questions are too easy: #4: There is nothing to scramble, this is the name of a village in Wales. #5: All of them are considered a valid discussion contribution by she-who-must-be-obeyed.
gumbypickett Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 Ok here goes. 1 The one in the centre 2 All of them 3 The whole lot 4 sez who Did I win? Of coarse I did, I know it , c'mon I know I did it, imm not shtewpid. cheers Gumby
flyingfish55 Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 1. Depends on which part of the world you are in 2. With my specs on they all look the same to me 3. Not clear if we are to use all nine shapes to make a square or to use one at a time - poorly worded question 4. No need to unscramble. It's the word I use when hit my thumb with a hammer, or stub my big toe getting back into bed after my third visit of the night to the bathroom 5. None of them. There is no point in responding when the other half asks a question when in reality, in her mind it is a statement of fact
wain71 Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 I'm a little confused.com.....above my brain grade for sure...
TerribleT Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 This topic left me speechless ..... almost but I have enjoyed the responses all of which I can understand
W2DR Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 I used to worry about this kind of stuff. I was once diagnosed with MCI (Mild Cognitive Impairment). But then came the ultimate mental acuity test. I was shown a series of pictures depicting gorgeous young women in various states of undress. I was asked to identify the best smile, the best legs, the best buns, and the best boobs. I passed with flying colors and I've never looked back.

John York Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 You're all too clever for me! I couldn't make head nor tail of any of it.

adambar Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 Here it is Sunday, and I haven't progressed one iota. Hang on I just chugged a few more beers. 1 - Depends on which way your headed. 2- not sure if those are the birds reflections or there dead. 3- just draw a line around the edge to form a square. 4- same as flyingfish, when I hit my thumb with a hammer 5- depends on who's asking and why and if they have a need to know. So there you have it. Sorry Gumby you didn't win nuttin', I just pulled the rug out from underneath you LOL.

Rodger Pettichord Posted March 13, 2022 Author Posted March 13, 2022 I take it the best way to solve these puzzles is to have too many beers and end up not giving a d***?
Ken Q Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 In terms of solving these puzzles, the difficult we do right away, but the impossible takes a little bit longer, and, apparently a LOT more beer! Ken
flyingfish55 Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Had a very satisfying bottle of this 7% Munchener beer recently. Unfortunately I had to walk back to my residence so kept it to one bottle only. An excellent winter brew.
