Old Route 66 Leg 7

Recommended Posts

In my last flight I left old route 66 and went to Neosho, Missouri to visit some friends.  Now it is time to get back on track.  Leaving Neosho and following old route 66 to Claremore, Oklahoma

Claremore has a population of 18,581.  It is best known as the birthplace and home of early 20th-century entertainer Will Rogers.  Rogers died in 1935 with aviator Wiley Post, when their small airplane crashed in northern Alaska. He and his wife are buried at the Will Rogers Memorial in Claemore

A nice kick of a flight on Route 66 John :) Also, that is a good looking airport where you landed, not default I take it?

Thanks Landon and no that is not a default airport, it is one I built and should be included in the next NA freeware airport pack.

Had a girlfriend once who went to an exclusive women's college in Neosho, MO.  Did you ever watch the wild Scot Billy Connolly's show on Route 66?

No I have never seen that show but do remember the women's college.

Thank you Martyn, glad you liked the post.  Yes, Will Rogers was a fascinating person been I have been to his memorial a number of times when I lived in Oklahoma.

Will Rogers, I loved the way he wrote, he never met a man he didn't like.  And when he died in Alaska in that plane it was a huge shock to the world.
