Now just history.

The first instalment of a flight to England's West Country from Liverpool.

1.6p0SO26.jpg

The first turbo prop I flew on was a Dan Air 748 back in 1975. Sadly Dan Air and almost all of the 748s have now gone.

2.L93ZIoT.jpg

Over the much cleaner Mersey Estuary which even has fish in it now,  departing from Liverpool's John Lennon Airport.

3.op4OMb2.jpg

Over the Wirral at Heswall with just some of the Dee just visible. On the other bank of the Dee sits Flint.

4.xb3YijY.jpg

A small part of Connah's Quay and Flint Bridge can be seen through the clouds.

5.zTy0II5.jpg

Very close to Dutlas and the border shared by Wales and England.

6.RZIoJn4.jpg

After passing the Brecon Beacons the clouds briefly part to expose Tredegar.

More clouds as we approach the Severn Estuary.

To be continued...…...

Lots of cloudy shots here Martyn! Another nice long gone livery too...you seem to be finding lots of those :) Orbx England is looking good in these shots, under all that cloud cover.

Thanks Landon, this is actually one of the liveries that came with the plane but there are also some excellent third party paints that I should get around installing.:)

A great history lesson Martyn! I remember Dan Dare well ;):)

Thanks Paul, well I had Dan Dare in my original title but I wasn't sure if anyone would remember him so I changed it.

I should have stuck to my original plan!

I am enjoying your flight and the shots.  Also great looking clouds.

Thanks John, I love flying through the clouds but again what was meant to be a scenic flight was altered by the RL weather.

Sadly indeed. That's why I was soooo happy when I saw a military active one in South Korea last October.

Great caps. Liverpool is a nice area to fly.

That was very cool Martyn, thanks for the tour and I never knew they naked an airport after a Beatle, how cool is that?  I love it.

Thanks Jack, it was formerly known as Speke.

There is George Best Belfast City Airport too named after arguably the best Association Footballer to come out of the UK.

Thanks, I used to see them regularly in Thailand with the RTAF but they have been gone now for 2 years.:(

Great to hear they are still going in South Korea.

You are so right that there are many interesting features around Liverpool.:)
