A relaxed flight through the rain

Relaxed this flight out of Port Moresby/Jacksons will be, as it is not heading towards a bushstrip. And with an airliner instead of these all-terrain-props.

However, the PNG scenery is always worth a visit!

Just as the Great Barrier Reef along the Queensland coast is.

Though... not in all seasons...

... and maybe better not in January.

Landing in Cairns is stressless in all weather conditions, ...

... but why did they assign Cebu Pacific Airlines to "Domestic"? Perhaps this is the way to bypass Immigration controls even without carrying a tennis racket.

Always love flying into Cairns, nicely done Gerold. The weather does indeed look a little on the grey and wet side, but then that can make things more interesting, right? :DAnother fun leg of your adventure with some great screenies!

Not too promising, but quite ok. As long as we won´t go swimming...

That´s it Graeme. Rain season, you probably know it from personal experience...

Warm rain ....... ah that sounds so nice ; locked in Winter here in the PNW .

So true John. Flying in Alaska (or Washington state?) is a different thing in January.

Thank you Landon. With an airliner I accept this grey & rainy conditions, while I would think of a little manipulation for a low&slow flight. And it would also be nice to have the option to manipulate weather in real life travels as well...

Thank you Ian - at least it helps to protect from bush fires...

Oh yes, floods this month, then cyclones, fires will be later in the year when it all dries out.....

Looks like it was a nice flight, super shots of it.

Thanks John - compared to the prop flights in PNG´s bush strips it was really a relief. And the ILS also helped...

Nice trip Gerold,  enjoyed it along with the shots! :)  I'll take some warm weather, we are supposed to have 8 to 16 inches of snow Sunday and Monday in W. Pennsylvania. :(

Thank you Adam. If t´s a controllable winter and everything works as needed, snow is fine. But if infrastructure collapsed, and you´d need to move, then it´d be awful. Keep my fingers crossed.
