  1. Great shots and happy memories of my hike on the Milford Track!
  2. If there isn't an immediate need to upgrade, why not see what the 4070 12Gb brings later in the year (hopefully) or alternatively its effect on 3XXX range prices as they seek to clear stock before release. You might find yourself with more buying power.
  3. Sorry mate, I was paying attention to the Globemaster going over me at a very low altitude, not people watching
  4. How weird, we were on that bridge watching the action at Riverfire in 2019 as well!
  5. The IAG server is temporarily down, but shall hopefully be back to normal soon. The flightplans are derived from real world schedules, so you will see plenty of QFA at Sydney, AAL at Dallas Fort Worth etc, and nothing unrealistic . I have about 1400 flightplans installed but if you only fly to certain areas you can just install the flightplans that interest you.
  6. Oh yes, floods this month, then cyclones, fires will be later in the year when it all dries out.....
  7. Nice shots! Your weather is very accurate Gerold, we've had plenty of rain here in Queensland over recent days.
  8. Don't forget to check out the Orbx Murray Island freeware whilst you're in that neck of the woods.
  9. Thanks for the advice John, that 2K option may well work. cheers Ian
  10. H'mm, I might need to hold off then. Thanks for your assistance Doug.
  11. Thanks Doug, is that after adding Sydney Cityscape? Any idea what it was before? I manage Australia v2 & Fly Tampa Sydney okay with my settings. Ian
  12. Could someone who has added the new Sydney Cityscape to existing Australia V2 & Fly Tampa Sydney please advise what your VRAM usage looks like? I don't use study level aircraft but only have a 6Gb GPU so need to be moderate in what I install. cheers Ian
  13. The wind at ground level might be doing something very different to that at 2-3000ft, especially in the mountains
  14. When you say something is wrong, what exactly are you encountering? Are the airports appearing , but with perhaps elevation issues, or are you not seeing anything other than default airports/scenery? Can you give specific product examples?
  15. Yes, Etihad, the arabic word for "United"
  16. Actually, I think the OP was questioning the MK Studios version, specifically whether it is backwards compatible as only a v5 version is available via Orbx, whereas another vendor will sell you the v4 version which will entitle you to the v5 version for free.
  17. You can't be serious, I can't believe someone put that there. I am going to have to find one myself. Have you looked around Uluru, I wonder what is there. Maybe a broken down combi on the Stuart Highway too?
  18. I am not sure if Seanmo really lives there, but wasn't it something to do with Kiribati being the first place to see the new day that people moved their VPN to Kiribati to get the MSFS release first?
  19. Is it the case that the wake and smoke effects aren't working in MSFS, or did you just happen to pick some stationary ships for the pictures?
  20. The setup basically entails ensuring you have an active account for AVSIM library, Flightsim.com and the AIG website (all free). You also need to download the P3D SDK plus of course any payware AI models you choose to use. The first time you run the platform, you need to point the installer to the location you have the SDK and where you want your install to go (43Gb ish). It will then prompt you to log into those websites so it can access the models, flightplans and re-paints, it does the rest. You can bulk click and install all 950 or so airlines or just select the ones you want.
  21. 1) Do you mean AIG AI Manager, or Traffic Global? I don't have UTL so can't say if it is better, but I've never heard anyone who uses AIG complain. With regard to AIG - 2) Yes 3) You just need to do a bit of easy set-up work to begin with. At the end of the day you can't expect 40+Gb of files to just appear and work flawlessly without some preparation. 4) Superb graphics, especially the PBR textures. A vast array of repaints, for example, all the American Airlines retro liveries, accurate renditions of airlines such as Norwegian, Frontier, Ryanair, Southwest that have multiple livery variations for the same model. 5) With 950 airlines, there aren't many places without traffic. If you want to check a particular airport, let me know and I'll see what is there.
  22. Can't recommend AIG Ai Manager highly enough. 900+ flightplans, hundreds of models, textures, special liveries, retro liveries etc etc. All free. If you want, you can donate and/or purchase some payware AI models, but this is not compulsory.
