Schipol to EHPN (P18a)?

Jack Sawyer

Recommended Posts

So I wanted to make a helicopter flight from EHAM to a helipad.  The GTN750 showed a helipad called EHPN named P18a.

I was excited because it showed it in the water, with a bunch of other ones.  So I flew around Amsterdam a little and went out over the water.

It wasn't there.  So maybe the GTN750 is wrong?   Anyway, it was a great flight.

Heading towards Amsterdam, the opposite direction to where I wanted to go.

Just having a look around and liking what I see.

One thing I notice is no dirt being kicked up.

Is this because it's TE or photoreal?

Thanks for looking, it's a beautiful country and well worth it.  Look forward to more exploration.

The GTN is funky with photo scenery..   There is no terrain data on the GTN for the Netherlands TE but at a number of airports the GTN will start throwing alarms  about terrain elevations that don't exist at the end of the runway and to pull up.   As with your missing helipads I'm guessing the GTN is reading its data from the base still or the garmin trainer?

How and the bl**dy hell can anyone complain about NED beggars belief.

These are fabulous views Jack and I am just about to take my first flight there.;)

I had a search for EHPN but the only reference was this post!:D

Must be climate change Jack, soon we will only be able to see the tops of the buildings unless we pay extra tax.

From what someone else said the ships only move very slowly in the canals so you would not notice them moving very much at all.;)

Climate change?  Yeah, I could use some here, like sunshine, we've had a week of rain and flooding, so yeah, someone change my climate!
