rtissera
Well you lucky one. The website is just plain dead, I can't connect at all, the best I was able to do is "add to cart"... I do not know which server/CMS they use but it does not scale to current demand
Nick Cooper
It will still be there tomorrow and the next day and the day after that.............

GregSwiss
It's 22.7 GB to download now, a lot more than the 12.9 GB of V4... Cheers, Greg
rtissera
Download is fast as they use a CDN downloading at 400 Mbit/s here in France
SeaToSky
Woohoo, downloading at decent speeds. I was wondering how the official install works when P3D v4.5 and add-ons is already installed. Has there been a discussion posted that someone can share with me? If not, can someone tell me if I need to uninstall P3D v4.5 + Orbx libraries/scenery and reinstall both, can I point to the separate Orbx install directory, or will Central do it all for me? rtissera
So... first impressions.... Vanilla P3Dv5 is providing good performance on my "weak" computer (i7 4790k, 32 GB DDR3 2400, GTX 1070 6 GB VRAM). It looks ugly (except clouds), still suffer from long load times (not any addon installed), I am mitigated so far. I will see how it goes once I have some addons enabled on V5 (Orbx first, then Active Sky), but it rather looks 4.6 to me than 5. It's still the ESP engine with a new DirectX 12 backend. SeaToSky
I haven't installed it yet, but for load testing, it's worth loading up 'Task Manager' and go to 'Performance', run the game, and make comparisons on CPU and GPU load.
Ken Terry
Do you have to download the whole thing or can you just download the "Client" which saves reloading all your addons? Cheers Ken

Well they can stick it for mine Nick, I'm not going through a complete reload of everything. This sort if thing takes the fun out of flight simming, for me anyway. I'll wait and see what MS come up with, with their new sim. Don

Coffs Harbour has finally been updated to YCFS within P3D V5 and will be available under that code via Orbx Central soon.
