VH-KDK
The beautiful Boeing 744 overshooting at East Midlands. In the way is the SNCASE SE.2010 Armagnac, the largest civil airliner at the time but underpowered and unprofitable.

olderndirt
Back in the day, we called that a 'deal'. Obviously the guy in the twin misinterpreted his instructions to 'hold short, landing traffic' to mean 'taxi into position and hold' or as they say now 'line up and wait'. The jet pilot, aware that there was a misunderstanding going on, elected to go around. Of course, if the tapes didn't support this, someone in tower was in deep doo-doo. Stillwater
Great shot of an unfortunate waste of fuel, Martyn. 17 hours ago, VH-KDK said: at East Midlands. I have been there many times when we had a sister company in Notts. Always with BMI. What a pity to read that they have gone bancrupt now as well.
