A lesson well learned.

I took off from Mount Isa and headed off west to find some of the strips in the area.

Well after doing a few orbits then re checking the co ords on Google Earth, I came to the conclusion that the strips were absent.

Checking the Add on scenery folder in P3D confirmed my worst fears.

I hadn't installed them yet.

Hopefully I will try again tonight.

Hey Martyn. The whole flat place looks like a landing strip to me.

Looks can be deceptive but a good place to be if your engine(s) give out.

Just make sure you have an EPIRB and plenty of water.;)

A good excuse to go on another flight once you get them installed, although as Rodger Mentioned, fair chance there is somewhere flat enough to set down out there.

There are quite a few strips in the set Michael so some bush trips on the cards.;)

Plenty of places to put down but the roughest place to land would probably be the dirt roads with all their corrugations!

Maybe you were suddenly transported to Mars?  Hey, it could happen.  But I like it anyway Martyn.

I think there are a few that I know that would like me to go!

Glad you liked it Lard, a bit frustrating for me though but it all ended fairly well...…...at the third attempt!:o

Easy to imagine how pilots in the old times without GPS or GE were looking for these strips... ;)
