Where is Waddamana?

The next sector in my round Tasmania jaunt is from Mount King William III heading east to Waddamana.

The distance is just 45km but there is quite a change in the landscape.

This flight is done with the Carenado Cessna 152.

Passing over the airstrip, startling some of the livestock.

The airstrip takes it's name from the former hydro-electric town 11km to the north.

Waddamana once had a population of over 100 now it is only 4.

The beautiful rolling farmland is a nice change from some of the wilderness strips.

The communications tower is a useful landmark for finding the strip.

The taxi is waiting to take us into town. I hope it is the black one.

Judging by the population size I think everyone was there to greet you. Hope you got that black cab. :)

Ha ha, I got the black cab but had to share it with the sheep

Really nice set there, Martyn  ;D

Great slow and really low flight, Martyn. I have missed out that metropolitan area on my flights so far, but it seems to be an appropriate airfield for the given population.

Surprised you missed it Gerold, haven't you heard the saying all roads lead to Wannamana."

Excellent shots Martyn . You better keep a close watch out for other traffic ( Stillwater ) . ???:o8)

Cheers

Brad

Yeah, he is cheating by flying in something faster than my old 152!

Fine set these Martyn.

cheers

Iain

Great coverage of the Southern central highlands. did you stop and throw a fly over any of the lakes?, they are all great trout lakes..Teecee.

Went to Lake Pedder last Saturday but did not catch any fish!

Great set, great dialogue - beaut scenery ::)

Enjoyed this trip as well Martyn, great scenes from Tassie!

+1

Many thanks to you all for your great comments. I am enjoying this low and slow flying and hope you are liking the shots too.

Fantastic flight and shots Martyn!!

Good one! Great set Martyn

That looks like it would be a testy little patch to land in :)

Love these undulating strips. Some being in the bush are fairly easy to find but the ones in the farm areas can be a little tricky sometimes.

Thanks for the comments Chaps.
