Stillwater
This flight is a shortcut between two places I will visit this summer. From Barcelona... ... over the southern tip of Sardegna, ... ... to Calabria (with a slight view of Sicily to the right). Then passing south of the Pelopannes... ... and towards the western beaches of Crete. Descending along the islands southwestern coast with its famous gorges, ... and the long Komos beach, ... ... crossing northwards within reach of the Psiloritis mountain... ... to Heraklion city. LGIR has tricky RNAV approaches, and the runway is significantly above sea level. Don´t trust your eyes! So it needs experience to "hit" the runway (nearly) correct.
Captain Lars
Ah Crete... I have nice memories of vacations on the island when I was still very young. Particularly I remember a monastery in the center of the island and visiting the palace of Knossos. They have rebuilt parts of it, it's very nice there. I believe it is surrounded entirely by the city today. And nice flight. Now that we learned yesterday that RSR (possibly) betrayed his customers and there's probably not going to be any update for P3D: How's the QW 787 doing in comparison to the PMDG stuff?

Thank you Lars, for the comments and the points for discussion: Knossos: Yes, it is amazing. And no, it is not surrounded by the city. We have been these a few years ago, and the biggest challenge is avoiding the busses and, even worse, the cruiseship passengers. These are way too much for the ancient treasure. The QW 787: That plane is fully on PMDG level, at least for the normal operations I usually fly. Great stuff and worth buying it, even today in the final days (?) of P3D. What is RSR?

I never bother with simulated emergencies... all emergencies I encounter are due to sim glitches or pilot skills. RSR is the entity acting as PMDG's boss. I once believed PMDG's hollow promise, that there will be a free upgrade and I only bought the plane for this reason during a sale many years ago. Of course there never has been an upgrade. This was the last time I bought something from PMDG.

This was the last time I bought something from PMDG. Correct. The treatment of their more than loyal customers over there is a shame. I remember very well that RSR made a thread outlining what updates they wanted to bring to their products, including an LNAV update for their P3D lineup and a cockpit visuals update for the 777. I remember how I paraphrased this over at their forum and how I got slandered in the most appalling way for it by Mr. RSR himself. Absolutely disgusting.
