Orbx Posted October 4, 2021 Share Posted October 4, 2021 We are excited to announce the next airport from Orbx Developer Finn Hansen - ENHF Hammerfest Airport! Located at 71° North the town of Hammerfest is regarded as the northernmost town in the world with more than 10,000 residents. During the summer months, there is continuous daylight which is the natural phenomenon known as the midnight sun, while during winter, the sun does not rise above the horizon. This airport has a challenging approach onto a short, sloped runway sitting on a plateau above the city. Dash8-100s operated by Widerøe are the most common aircraft to visit Hammerfest coming in from destinations such as Tromso, Honningsvag and Hasvik. Some very nice features complete this airport: PBR textures, an interior terminal model, custom statics as well as circle-to-land lighting for RWY22. Beyond the airport, Finn has also included custom orthoimagery, a mini-cityscape of the Hammerfest as well as the LNG facility. With significant turbulence around the airport and nearby mountainous terrain, this will test your skills in difficult flying conditions, especially during the dark winter months! 8 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

They tend to be hard on mobile bandwidth for no real gain. It happens quite often on this forum and at time even on your shop. I remember flying around that sort of torch in P3D, I looked nice that effect, and the mountains in the sourrond, it was a very immersive one So thank you for bring it back to life. Hammerfest is a beautiful place and the airport is very interesting to fly in and out of.
