PayPal purchase button not doing anything

Hey guys,

 

Like many others, I was very excited with the return of paypal to Orbx Central.

Although, when I go into the cart screen that asks for my payment method, I press 'PayPal'. But, the PayPal login never pops up or anything. I am currently on 4.1.23 (fastlane), but even when I opt-out and reboot, the problem persists. Please help, I really want to get some more scenery before the sale goes away!

Hello Elliot, welcome to the forums.

Have you checked that all is well with your Paypal account, card is not out of date etc. Verify that first, then come back to Central.

No the problem is that the PayPal login window never pops up, so I am unable to add a payment method. It has nothing to do with my account because I have not been able to log into my PayPal account through Central in the first place.

You must make sure you are purchasing from the Orbx Central Store and not Orbx Direct.

Select your product in the respective region and add to basket, then select the basket, then yoiu will see the Paypal option.

No, I don't think you understand (sorry if my explaining is bad). 

 

a) I know I'm using Central, thats why I stated my version in the first post.

 

b) The actual problem is when I am trying to select the PayPal option. When I press the PayPal Button under payment method, nothing happens.

Hi @ShizMaster

 

You are correct that clicking the PayPal button in the cart should open the PayPal prompt and allow you to continue with payment.

 

Can you provide your central.log file so we can look into why this isn't opening for you?

The error in your log file indicates that Orbx Central handed over a new window to PayPal but and error has occurred within PayPal itself. Can you try completely restarting Orbx Central and seeing if the issue persists?

I have this exact same problem - there's no response at all to pressing the PayPal button, so I'm unable to transact anything.

 

Irritatingly, it's also impossible to use the credit card option - I can type my name into the appropriate field, but clicking in the other fields (credit card number, zip code, etc) is unresponsive and won't let me enter info.

 

I am completely unable to actually purchase anything, and it's been this way for several weeks - I have uninstalled and reinstalled Orbx Central, including deleting all the cached files, and it continues to persist.

Yeah It is still happening, even after I added an exclusion and restarted completely

Hi guys ! Just to add I've opened a new ticket that I guess can be closed now  ? I have exactly this problem also I've been sat here tonight trying to purchase Florida and a few other airports and have eventually given up.

Well that's me having now missed out on the election sale without even a reply. If this is a typical example of how you value your customers  then my last purchase ( one of the UK TrueEarth sceneries ) maybe my last ....

Just an idea, have you tried different browsers?  I know that I was having problems with similar popup windows in Chrome and Firefox, and as a last resort I tried the Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge as I think it is now, and bingo! all of a sudden it worked.  It must be hard for website managers to constantly keep up with all the little code changes that are put in place.   

 

My current browser of choice is Opera, seems to be very error free.

Thanks for the suggestion John but I was trying to purchase directly from within Central because I needed to use the PayPal option. Certainty appreciate you taking the time to reply though thankyou :-)

Since todays update (4.1.37) I have a similar problem. I choose "PayPal" as payment method than I press the "PayPal"-Button. A window opens but closes immediately again. So I can't log into paypal and finish the purchase.

Just for info if this is being logged,there is still an issue with Paypal and multiple items in the cart. I tried with 2 items in the cart and paypal window opens then closes so couldn't purchase, but with only 1 item in cart, paypal window opens and purchase went through with no issues.

I am having this issue, I cannot use any borwser at Orbx direct to purchase using paypal and when I use the Orbx Central itself it shows the paypal window for around 4 seconds then dissapears, I cannot use credit card so paypal is my option only, I have 6 airports in my cart wanting to purchase them at Sale prices please I dont want to miss out thank you, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there, just need to chime in. I also have this issue, I cannot purchase anymore than 1 item at the same time with the latest update.  Used to be able to bulk purchase with no issues whatsoever. 
 

Has there been an update to this yet, as I see it’s been going on since May and still no reply? 
 

yes there’s a workaround, but it’s extremely time consuming and not really practical.

Same problem right now, I can't buy the products I want with Paypal.
It's really annoying, I have 17 products in my cart, I can't buy them one by one, it would take too long.
Never mind, I won't make my purchases.

I always wonder if there's a browser problem or a Paypal script.  Searching the net shows many problems with windows closing unexpectedly and there are all sorts of solutions offered including finding java scripts and modifying them.

 

I use Opera and occasionally when I have issues with a website not displaying correctly, particularly pop up windows, I try the same pages with other browsers, including Firefox and Microsoft Edge, and usually I find a different browser is the key.  

 

I'm sure the Orbx staff would suggest a solution if they had the answers but as paypal has shown in the past they're not always forthcoming with reasons for problems with their transactions.

Because there's a script in the process that is badly written is my guess.  Whether it's in the software that Orbx staff can fix or whether they have to rely on Paypal to fix it is anyone's guess.
