Crisp, with subtle coloring.

Excellent.

v5??

Thanks TTM:)

No, its XPlane 11.50b14 Vulkan Beta. I have every slider to the right, and my frame rate locked at 30 and it is just smooth all the way across Seattle. Very nice.:)

Unfortunately, b15 and b16 have been regressive for me.  fps dropped about 30% in 15 and it was 1 in 16 .

I have a basic theory (borrowed from JV) that if it doesn't work out of the box, it goes back into the box. So I am sticking with 14 although I test each new beta

Cheers

Interesting that 14 for you is better than 15 & 16.

One wonders why? What 15 & 16 changed.

Never was able to fathom it. However others on different websites have reported very similar behaviour, even though there are many who are using it without issues

One of life's many mysteries.

They look real nice Pete but what about the clouds in the first one?  A lot of repeating clouds?

Thanks Jack:)

You gotta get up real early to get anything past our Jack:D

But you've used XPlane before so you know how poor the weather engine is. I would have thought you would have recognized it right away.

To me , being "weather aware" is very much a part of flying in real life. I would have thought that with the effort they into the flight models in the sim , there would

be an equal effort on the weather engine side. Maybe next year?

Actually the reason they repeat is because in Default  they are  just 2d images rotated 90, 180, 270 degrees etc. . Doesn't give much variety :(
