San Diego in Pago Pago

Now that I have fooled you a bit with the headline, I can tell you the truth; there was once in the 1960s a German freighter, which was called, well, not exactly San Diego, but Cap San Diego. Why do I remember this ship? Because it’s the only one of its class that has survived until today. It is now berthed as museum ship in Hamburg and is living testimony to a time when ships were still beautifully designed and did not look like these container behemoths that we are used to today.

Have a look for yourself: the Cap San Diego at anchor in Pago Pago:

Wonderful images from your flight sail Bernd and it is always nice to see something different on here.:)

I prefer these older ships and can remember standing on the cliffs at Bournemouth in the 60s watching the various liners heading off to the various parts of the Commonwealth.

Wow Bernd!  I love these, it's always nice to be on the water in the Angelfish, a floatplane, or something WICKED cool like this.  I really love the different views of our slice of Orbx-land like this.

Like you I love what we can do nowadays with our ORBX sceneries, Jack

Many thanks, Martyn. Luckily we have still experienced ships like this and remember how they looked like, when steaming across oceans.
