  1. As it happens I am using WiFi V6 and having no issues but seems a lot depends on the signal strength and also the standard and frequency being used and of course the amount of competing WiFi around you. For preference I think direct connection is best if you have that available. I did not have a convenient hard wire ethernet point so went with WiFi , that was the only reason. So if you were getting 56Mbps via WiFi as against 530 on ethernet sounds like there is an issue with the wifi . 2. "So now I have that sorted out, those of you with your **@@/ remarks can go and crawl back under your rocks" Sorry Don but this is not helpful or appropriate on the forum.
  3. I think he's saying caveat emptor. I have found that on several occasions the price has been deeply discounted on the MS shop compared to Orbx/other resellers. Presumably this is because of the bigger comsumer base that MS has resulting in more sales for devs or some sort of promo deal. You cannot expect Orbx to refund because the price is cheaper elsewhere. Almost no retail store will do that (although some claim to as a special promo). So the lesson is check the prices for a product before you buy. Sorry Don, I think that you will have to cop this one.
  4. food and very occasionally computer equipment / electrical gear.
  5. Yes I see your point. The difference is when MS goes muscrat hunting they use grenades not traps. I saw the interview FWIWW. She really didn't say much about P3D V6, except that if the customer numbers are enough devs will dev for it. Some indications are that existing P3D stuff may not be compatible with V6, but seems like we don't know for sure. If that is the case it won't help much. It's interesting that V6 personal will have the requirement to stay internet connected whilst prof vers does not, not sure what thats all about. It's wait and see time - hey that's deja vu isn't it.
  6. That is the weirdest simile (parable) I have ever heard, but it might form the basis of a great MS game, muscrat hunt.......🤩. OK don't flame me just kidding.
  7. FSElite have a note that the Microsoft Flight Simulator Releases Ford 4-AT Trimotor, Free for One Week starting 23rd June. For anyone who is interested.
  8. Interesting, same model as Windows 10 to 11, in which case at some point users will need to migrate but not immediately.
  9. Sounds like some sort of 'balls up' to me
  10. Yep , got it, Thanks.
  11. Thats fine Nick, but where can I see the total ORBs I have available? Is that shown in Obrx Central? Brian
  12. Orbx is a business, so they go where the money (ie largest client base) is. They still support P3D which is more than some vendors do. Fact is, P3D is a good simulator but many people are moving to MSFS (and others) so whilst they still support P3D they are investing in the newer and more popular areas, like any business would. I'm afraid that is just the way it is. BTW I have no affiliation with Orbx except as a customer myself.
  13. so that'll be 0.5 of an ORB as well!!!!
  14. ON Elite Website - but not here apparently as yet....... orbx Announces EGLC London City Airport v2 for MSFS A brand new version of London City will be soon released from Orbx, bringing it… MSFS Comments (12) Posted: 02-May-2023 @ 08:34z Listen to this article 0:00 / 1:24 1X BeyondWords Orbx has today announced that they will soon be releasing a brand new version of their London City Airport (EGLC) for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
  15. Well thanks Nick, but given the information that Orbx (or its developers) has chosen NOT to provide speculation is all that is left. And by the candour of your reply it looks like the actual arrival of an update is still , well, speculative, AKA as you suggest 'there is no real truth in it' . At the end of the day all we are asking for is a little consideration (as customers) and some, non binding, idea as to how long an update may be. And BTW we are still no wiser. So thanks again and have a nice day. Brian
  16. Yep, good luck with that. I asked two months ago and no answer. I suspect that sales haven't been what was expected and therefore updates (specifically the sandel EHSI) are not a priority, may turn out an orphan sadly.
  17. Think about it, do you need two encyclopedia's , one on the shelf and another next to your bed , or do you just have one and go and get it when you need it. It's the same for linker / Orbx Lib, just one copy where you know it is (as in where MSFS knows where it is) and it goes and gets it when it needs it. Two copies are likely to confuse.
  18. Hi Nick, Yes, I saw that before I posted this question. As far as I can see the credits are essentially an 'in game' currency so that, I assume, they can handle multiple real world currencies without showing exchange rates. In fact credits are just a translation of your local money to the in game purchase money (credits). I'm sure there is a good reason for this but it seems awfully convoluted to me. Brian
