Happy Birthday Martyn VH-KDK
Stillwater replied to gumbypickett's topic in The Neil Hill Memorial Lounge
I am not sure if you read it, Martyn. However: have a happy birthday and a great new year! -
In general my intention of flying is already summarized by Bluebear above: Having said that, you may know that I have started trying MSFS only recently. For today I can summarize: I am fascinated by the impression the scenery gets in MSFS even by default - and the potential to pimp it up by tons of freeware. But flying the study level planes in my well-known p3dv4 brings more flight-simming fun. Plus, I have a full ecosystem with AS real historic weather (and seasons to adjust). I will continue to use both sims - and therefore I strongly hope that Orbx reads this and continues the OpenLC Asia project.

That´s what I´d call a good home office. -

Shiny. The house, not the plane... -
Got it. Not very precise, but relaxing. Thanks for the hint, John!

Hmmm, that means I need to do more research in the sim...

Great outback shot, Iain. Which 530 is that? Is it trimmable (like the Milviz for p3d was)? I really miss an easily controlable heli for exploring the great scenery in MSFS.

Cool to see how different our likings are. Now it is up to Rodger to buid the average... 😉 -

That is a question I can contribute to - after so many years of flight simming. 1. Boeing C-17 2. DC-3 3. Boeing 787 4. Lancair Legacy 5. Cessna C337 6. Catalina 7. De Havilland Beaver -
Another day... but a good occasion to relax, have a good drink and enjoy the weekend!

Good to see you back in the air & posting, Don!

Orbx airports visited in real life - a rolling story
Stillwater replied to Stillwater's topic in General Discussion
It could not have been Bowerman - I have been there last autumn and could not recognize. At least, again, Wolfgang has got it! Who makes the next riddle (if there is one left)? -
You know me, I always try to prefly my real trips, or to repeat them. Or just go where I will never go... Over 2TB free on the sum of my SSDs currently, so I can grab something... But I´ll take care on good organisation! I already have, Iain, and I have just scratched the surface of using it! Thanks Ken. And also: Thanks for your scenery, it will find its way on my SSDs... Go on, at least with the Wilderness state. I´ll probably be there next March to make comparison shots. Thank you Lars, for the compliments on the first shot. And on the rig selection. BTW, I have reinstalled P3D for IFR flying on a separate SSD - as long as we do not have proper widebodies for the new kid. Love the 777!

Orbx airports visited in real life - a rolling story

@paulk, I fear we need some more details... -
Merci Jean Marc! I have got so much to learn - and to discover. Feel like a total Newbie! Thanks Graeme. That is not a learning curve, it is a mountain... After 2 years of nearly no purchase for flight sim (there was nearly nothing for P3D) I had built up the budget for my new machine.

An interesting view out of this window. But confusing, at least with many functions. Oh yes Pete, finding out where (and how!) MS has hidden all these controls is the first task. Let´s see if it can be more to my humble brain than just being optically impressive. Dealing with the controls is the first thing. Next I got to get back to what I am used to: ground services (surely GSX), air traffic (open), sea traffic (are Henriks ships ported?). ATC will probably become PRO-ATC/X again. And then we are at REAL airplanes up to jetliners...

Exactly, Andy. A true challenge for me, currently…

Oh no, that is a hard one, at least to me. Looking at the car and the overground powerlines I assume this is in the US? -

We experts call this „flight simulation“! -
How many members are there in the Orbx Forum?
Stillwater replied to Ken Terry's topic in General Discussion
And the screenshot forum lost a lot of interest with MSFS, as there are less Orbx scenery discoveries to explore and share. While the other simulators are optically less attractive, and therefore not posted so often. -
These look really great, Filou. That sounds really great, Lars.
