"Anacortes" is an adaptation of the name of Anne Curtis Bowman, who was the wife of early Fidalgo Island settler Amos Bowman. The airport is situated on Fidalgo Island. The island is named after the Spanish explorer and cartographer Salvador Fidalgo, who explored the area in 1790. To the south, the island is separated from Whidbey Island by Deception Pass. I have flown several times around these Islands in the regio between Seattle and Victoria on the US-Canada border but never remarked the Deception Pass bridge of shot 5 and 6.
