Mark Abdey
The Lizard in Cornwall Where I'll be spending time on a clifftop this week. Carrick roads & Falmouth in the first two. Now over the Lizard, which is a peninsula in the far west of Cornwall, with Lizard Point being the most southerly point in Britain. Goonhilly Earth Station The hangars of RNAS Culdrose in the distance... We always see lots of jet and helo activity while staying here, which is an added bonus.. Some of the stunning cliffs I'll be walking. And so, into the sunset... Thank you for looking.
Ken Hall
Absolute stunners, thought I was looking at captures from any of the many WWII movies featuring this iconic aircraft. Enjoy the walk Mark, such a beautiful part of the country, hope the weather is kind to you. cheers Ken

Are there or were there lizards there? I see the little guys here a lot.

I love the Spitfire and had done so from childhood; it's such a beautiful looking machine; every line and curve is perfect... and that sound! 9 hours ago, Breeze said: Beautiful shots! Love the Spit. The name "Lizard" is most probably a corruption of the Cornish name "Lys Ardh", meaning "high court" or "The Lizard is not named after some mythical dragon, one suggestion is that the name comes from the Cornish "lezou", or headland. " They may be other suggestions, so take your pick... and yes there are Lizards there, which we've been lucky enough to see many times... as well as Adders, our only venomous snake. 7 hours ago, lauriebe said: Great set of a beautiful part of the country.
