Glorious set Paul, you cannot get much more British than this can you.

I still cannot believe I lived so close to Popham yet never visited the place.

Guess now that ORBX is the only way I will ever see it.:)

Thank you Martyn! :). I agree, it is a nice little airfield in Hampshire.  Apparently the 'Spitfire Flying Club' is in memory of Charles Church who owned several Spitfires.

Just looked this up and he lost his life when Spitfire G-MKVC crashed while attempting an emergency landing at Blackbushe. I can remember hearing about the accident but I never knew any actual details of it.:(

Yes, he was a true Spitfire enthusiast and played a key role in restoring quite a number to flying condition.

What a beautiful little airport Paul and a great set of shots.  I loved the way you set it up by "walking" in and seeing the plane.

Thank you Jack! :). I am happy that you enjoyed my little storyline.

Super set of screen shots Paul I love the spitfire and the sound of the merlin engines a fantastic sound regards stewart

Thank you Stewart! :). The Spitfire is one of my favourite aircraft. I am looking forward to the new one from A2A being developed especially for P3Dv4.

Great video - I have watched it a number times. I saw the pilot Ray Hanna perform on many, many occasions in the eighties and nineties. He formed the 'Old Flying Machine Company' based at Duxford and regularly displayed MH434. He was a true master of his art and he had serious b#lls! ;) :D

With all this chat about Spitfires, I am already beginning to think that I need a trip to Duxford again!

BTW, wasn't Manston used for SAR in its latter years?

Great little series Paul, I just love the Spitfire. I too have been eagerly awaiting arrival of the A2A Spitfire for P3Dv4...loved flying her in P3D v3 and FSX. Great little airfield and area too, perfect for some Spitfire action :D

A great story just by your pictures, Paul. There can´t be a better place to fly a Spit.

Thank you very much Gerold! :) I am glad that you liked it.

I agree,  Popham is an ideal airfield for an early Spitfire.
