  1. I agree, I guess it's all about how you read things and draw different conclusions, from the previews, this deffo looks like a great airport and one to pick up Tbh I'd rather have more airports in lesser represented countries than every airport from 2/3 countries. so defiantly, looking forward to LKPR I do get that Tomas, but like I said, DaRadicalCavy did something to deserve it, Orbx can't give free products to everyone
  2. With all due respect Tomas, DaRadicalCavy actually posted on reflection some good points, whereas you've just said, when is it coming, so why do you get a free copy, other than trying your luck
  3. I do get your point, for the balance of fairness, Orbx announced LKPR on the 29th Jan, and WU7 released on the 31st, we don't know what the showstopper is, but for example WU7 could have caused a CTD when loading in LKPR, or something else in WU7 could have caused the issue, now you can argue in this case, that they shouldn't have announced until they tested with WU7 but then (my background is Project Management/Scheduling) if Orbx runs SRAs/What If scenarios, then the chances of issues stemming from WU's would be quiet low because I haven't seen it being mentioned before, and on the history of MSFS, only SU's seemed to have caused development issues, so if I was the PM I would have been happy announcing LKPR on the 29th Another point is, these threads tend to launch within 2 weeks of launch, we're only a week into the thread, in could be resonable that Orbx could think that they could have found the issue, fixed it and tested before the period was up...I'm not trying to make excesses, and yes maybe they should have said something but then you'll know from experience things are always more dynamic than what it seems
  4. You sound very rude though imo, I don't get how you can say Orbx want a quick buck when they are not rushing to release, and delayed it, there's plenty of other products recently released for MSFS that should have been delayed for show stopping bugs but haven't. So actually Orbx should be giving credit for delaying release to fix this issue, I think this delay is the first I've noticed for a product in the last couple of years, so Orbx obviously have a good track record of knowing where their products are in the cycle, and with this one it's the same but they found a last minute problem, hey it's software, it happens.
  5. These topics are normally started about 2 weeks before release, so hopefully the end of next week,
  6. My apologies, I'm sorry I didn't realise the entire post wasn't aimed at me. (It's been a crap week, with the death of someone very close to me so I'm not thinking straight) Agreed and for what it's worth, I hope OpenLC Asia releases sooner rather than later for you guys...after all we are here for the same reason, we love aviation and flight simulation.
  7. I’m not saying I think the closing of the support forums is the correct move, I often try and help people where I can, and yes I agree sometimes as users we can sometimes offer the same if not better support as the devs, If Ed or Anna (or anyone at Orbx is reading this) a potential idea…if you want to continue using tickets for more personalised support, how about you reopen the support forums but make clear, for official support to go through the website, and that if you request support on the forum, it’ll be user to user support, that’s how PMDG works and it seems to work pretty well.
  8. EDIT : I meant 5 times, my brain obviously doesn’t work first thing in the morning
  9. They're called the community and support forums. Question Doug, on this forum where do you post or spend the most time in? Like if I click on your profile, the majority of your recent activity seems to be General Discussion/the memorial lounge and not the support bit, if you actually use the support bit all the time, then fair enough.
  10. How? If anything what products people buy is related to the roadmap, not the price or what they're willing to spend, if anything people are willing to spend a cr*p ton more in MSFS, which is why you're seeing a lot more products both payware and freeware than P3D on average (when it was the main sim) I'm sure if MSFS prices went back to P3D prices then people would still spend, yes not as much but they still would, just like how P3D prices would be £5-£10 cheaper if P3D ever had the market to support that Not thin air (now who's the one assuming lars ) if you look at the tread data for videos games (or just understand the basic cycles of games) you'll know this is true. Take FIFA, it releases in September, by March, the only ones playing it are the serious players, the casuals have moved on, same with Call of Duty or any other game. 18 months/2 years...still longer than the average attention span of a average gamer, and another point, if 95% of the MSFS user base left (like you said in your post), MSFS would still have a user base 95 times bigger than P3D at it's peak. (I'll happily provide data for that) A expectation based on fact, I don't know what forums you frequent but on A2A's/PMDG and even a couple here, there's so many comments saying I am moving to MSFS once product X is released for the platform, namely the NG3 and A2A aircraft but I have a feeling the Fenix A320 will bring some bus drivers to MSFS. Also look at the tread data for MSFS usage over the last 18 months Have you got a short memory? I replied to Stiillwater's comment talking about roadmaps, neither of us brought up a sim, it was a discussion about roadmaps in general, you said "I have a hard time imaging that the advent of MSFS has created such a large amount of die hard simmers. It has created a large amout of casual simmers of whom 95% will soon be off to more 'gamey games' or whatever distracts them best." so yes Lars you did bring up MSFS, I don't know how you can sit there and say you didn't because you didn't, maybe read the thread leading up to the comment and. you'll see it was you that brought up MSFS.... Ok...I didn't ask for one nor expect one so it's cute you thinking I wanted one I visit the forum to look at what Orbx does as a whole for the community, so I do view P3D threads from time to time as I did spend 6/7 years with it as my main sim so it's still nice to see what happens, but you miss the irony here Lars, my comment in that thread had nothing to do with Asia, P3D or MSFS, it was to do with roadmaps. You yes you Lars then made it into this conversation, because you brought sims into it. My comments had nothing to do with ruining the hobby, nor did I say anything about how Orbx should stop developement, that's you putting words trying to words into my mouth
  11. To preview upcoming products and to just have discussions all things flight sim
  12. @B12, obviously something struck a nerve and caused you to go on a moaning rampage this morning, 1) why are people in this thread so special, that they deserve updates about OpenLC Asia? I get the frustration in waiting but there's a similar thread for KPBI and there's no response in that either, because Orbx don't provide updates, and normal practice is only announce products very close to release, and you can see why with this thread 2) You're getting mad and crying about "Orbx doesn't care about P3D anymore", that's probably true, but you fail to see the bigger picture. even though flight simulation is hobby, Orbx and other developers are still businesses, they still need to make money, and a few developers have said that P3D is no longer commercially viable, why do you think Milviz and Aeroplane Heaven have dropped P3D this week, I am sure many other developers with follow suit. If I was a betting man I'd sadly put money on Orbx losing money on OpenLC Asia
  13. I was hoping to see M'M Simulations join the Orbx family
  14. I haven't flown in Aus since the update but I think you may be talking about things Orbx didn't work on, all Orbx did were "all the POIs and four airports" YPJT and YPPH weren't done by Orbx and done by a different dev and tree's in the wrong places has been an issue since launch as is normally a photogrammetry issue
  15. Lars, I fail to see how the amount willingness to spend is in any way relevant to a roadmap, the roadmap is there purely as a placeholder so people know roughly what to expect, I'm just saying because the community has exploded since the release of 2020, you will have more people questioning the roadmap every 5 minutes The lower prices for MSFS addons is simple economics, a larger userbase = more sales therefore can be sold at a lower cost to achieve the same profit margin, stop thinking it's anything else Why are P3D users threatened so much that even when the discussion is not on sim vs sim, you feel the need to drag it back to it. I cba talking about it anymore, but the numbers are on MSFS's side, go look at navigraph's report, and these numbers will grow by the end of 2022, with the release of the NG3 and Fenix A320, that's a fact btw. Oh yeah and btw, casual gamers tend to move on from games after 4-6 months, not 2 years. Not that this was the point but you made it go this way Lars, MSFS is here to stay, whether you like it or not (or can accept it)
  16. I love roadmaps, but as Nick pointed out in another thread, there's issues, especially as the community has grown significantly in recent times, and just end up with the 'When's Product X coming' or 'why didn't product x release last year', no matter how big and bold you write that the roadmap can change
  17. Not true, even though YSSY wasn't in WU7, there is a hand-crafted YSSY is one of the release versions of MSFS, that he's talking about Generally I remove the hand-crafted airport when installing an add-on airport, this helps remove any conflicts
  18. If it's like the UK and France updates then Orbx will update the landmark packs for anything that will be duplicated/a conflict
  19. Mason, I'd assume the team is only getting back to full speed after the Christmas period, and if you are after a roadmap, the 2021 only released in April, it may be the same this year, if they're doing one. Patience is a virtue
  20. @TigerTigerM I just saw a post on AS saying they have given Orbx the files, I guess it's just a case of when
  21. I'm hoping it come's to Orbx too, as central is preferred, I'm guessing it might not appear till the middle of the night (UK time), but I'm happy waiting as I bought LLBG from Aerosoft and it got released on Orbx 2 day laters
  22. How do you know Orbx are aware of the issue before today? Terrainy may have not told Orbx…bearing in mind it doesn’t affect every install because for example my Samos works fine
  23. Hi. Beedan, although Volanta devs may visit the forums, Volanta suggestions and issues are normally better handled on the Volanta discord, or through a ticket on the Volanta website
