  1. It won't be vastly different, the cut Orbx or MS takes is to cover marketing, handling fees and everything else related to it, FlyTampa have to cover the same through their own e-commerce site, so yes FlyTampa may make a bit more margin selling through their own site, but it won't be a massively higher margin. Bearing in mind we are talking about £15 products, so margins are incredibly small no matter where you sell. No-one said that, Orbx probably take a similar amount, probably on par with MS and Simmarket etc. I don't know if it's a language thing, but you brought this 'grilling' onto yourself, this post was purely an is X product coming to Orbx, no-one is forcing anyone (hell flytampa probably aren't even on this forum to see). My involvement was a comment of the strangeness of the situation, because FlyTampa is 2 (maybe 3) developers under the same name, but 1 developer has chosen one route (selling through Orbx) the other hasn't followed the same route, now yes there's probably reasons but it's very strange. Also it's not like this developer only sells at their own store, they sell at simmarket and the marketplace. No-one said that, personally the ease of central is why I buy here. I personally don't like FlyTampa's e-commerce system, it's very 2010/FSX times of an installer/serial code compared to nowadays of Central/Contrail/every other manager, but I will get Corfu (just like I did Copenhagen and Vegas) through their website, I just won't rush and will probably wait for Amsterdam before purchasing Corfu as it will probably be the next release from FT not on Orbx. @Nick Cooper, is it worth closing the thread, it's original purpose has been served and has been taken down an unneeded path by someone when it didn't need it.
  2. 2 things 1) FlyTampa sell on simmarket - do simmarket not take a chunk? Also flytampa sell on the marketplace - of which Microsoft take 35% 2) FlyTampa does sell on Orbx...one developer does, one doesn't. I was just stating how it's strange 2 developers under the same name have chosen different avenues. Interestingly, Mathjis Kok at Aerosoft was talking about direct sales from aerosoft vs the marketplace, and he said that profit from each avenue is actually similar, so this point you make is incorrect. Oh and I never said that i would never pick Corfu up, I probably will, but I won't rush to get like I would at Orbx.
  3. Yes the Orbx airports are better than the Asobo handcrafted airports, that's why I don't fly to the additional Asobo airports as I am too busy flying to Orbx (and Partners), Flightbeam, Flytampa airports. I'm not sure about your other question, of the top of my head, the Alaska mesh is the only product that includes a upgraded airport (PAJN), I'm not sure if any other Orbx region/landmark product upgrades any airports.
  4. I bought it thinking I would use the premium (and deluxe) aircraft like the 787 until PMDG and co came to MSFS, but only used the FBW A320 up to the 737 release, and the handcrafted airports although better than the default airports, don't reach 3rd party level, so don't fly to them. Not complaining, the upgrade is good value for money imo, but only if you make use of the additional aircraft/airports, which I haven't.
  5. If you only want to fly PMDG and A2A and not bothered about the handcrafted airports or default aircraft, I'd just get the standard edition, I bought the premium one and it wasn't worth it for me
  6. It's a shame, I really don't get the thinking in one FT developer wanting to sell through Orbx and the other doesn't...surely as a developer you'd want to sell in as many locations as possible, or you'll miss out on potentially sales - hopefully the hold out dev changes his mind and brings his portfolio to Orbx
  7. No FSX/P3D addon works with MSFS, I highly doubt you can get it installed, let alone working
  8. I'm looking at Orbx only products as I don't think partner products are fair to compare, I've just compared my first and latest MSFS purchase, it's a very quick and dirty comparison, I've noticed a AUD$4 difference, but it general I would say prices have slightly increased, but, I'm not complaining, there's so many reasons why, for example newer airports like VTSP are brand new, where the earlier MSFS airports were P3D 'ports', so more work are going into them. The MSFS market could have shrunk from initial 2020 days, and probably the biggest reason, the current cost of living. In the UK (and I'm sure everywhere else) the cost of living is rapidly increasing (mainly due to the ongoing war) so I am happy throwing developers a few extra bucks if it means they can put food on the table and pay their bills
  9. Happy birthday Orbx, - here's to many more years
  10. P3D 1-3 is defiantly a no-go for devs but the declining commercial side also include v4/5, Orbx are still providing an odd product for P3D 4/5, there's still a couple P3D products on the roadmap for this year, and I think a couple Orbx partners still produce for P3D as well like MK Studios. I don't work for Orbx (just live in a lot of forums and seeing the same trend). They'll probably be an odd P3D addon here and there, but I wouldn't expect a steady flow of P3D addons anymore
  11. The commercial addon market for P3D has shrunk in recent years due to MSFS, according to certain devs, it was actually shrinking before MSFS, MSFS just accelerated the issue. So the right product has to be released for P3D now in order to recover at least some developments costs, which is why there's hardly any new P3D products from any developer
  12. I only said it, as it's a fairly big reason IMO potentially why there's a longer gap in development. Without sounding combative (I'm truly not trying to be) based on what? How do you know what the development takes, what's involved, what challenges may have been faced. Yes you may be right in terms of Orbx's priorities are MSFS, therefore LC Asia hasn't taken priority, but saying it's unreasonable, again, how do you know what this project involves? Is it though? There's 2 threads of people asking about KPBI, and other threads about other projects with no Orbx response, why should this project be different, as for it coming to fruition, I hope it does for P3D users, I can't see Orbx not releasing it, especially when it's on the roadmap for a 2022 release (where Anna also reiterated it's a "huge" project)
  13. Just pointing out, 2 years is nothing, there's airports that take years, flightbeam's NZAA took 5 years and Aerosoft's EBBR was nearly 10 years from start to release. This project is an entire continent (the largest continent at that) and I'd guess Asia is extremely hard to get data for, especially the eastern parts. Plus the lead developer is currently (and has been for the last 6 months) in a worn torn country. Whilst a number of people want LC Asia, patience is needed. All Orbx can be accused off is potentially announcing the product a bit too early.
  14. I love A2A aircraft, shame I don't have the patience needed for lots of GA flying, but it's made me excited to see that they have accusim working for turboprop and turbojet aircraft. It'll be interesting to see what they can produce in the future, I'd love a A2A King Air or small BizJet like a Phenom or even going a bit bigger like a Challenger 350
  15. Sorry Marcus, apparently I can’t type, I meant thank you! It’s always nice to get nice surprises
  16. Thanks for the update Marcus, your airports are always a work of art, and a no thank you for the bonus airports!
  17. Looking great, I always look forward to your products! I hope you’re still managing to stay safe as well
  18. I'm not a heli guy but isn't there the Hype helicopters and a couple others?
  19. I assume by looking at pictures this is Melbourne? If so great news, hopefully the cityscape and airport release together
  20. Look at Orbx's partners, they have a fair few partners focusing solely on Australia, so probably the market isn't their for Orbx anymore
  21. So I didn't have the NGXu, so I can only compare to the NGX. I'm loving it, and having a lot of fun. All the options and there in the FMC, I read there's more than the NGXu. Yes there's no efb yet, it's not a total immersion killer but I do miss having the charts in sim (I don't like the navigraph toolbar app) and also missing a proper takeoff and landing calculator, so currently everything is a TOGA takeoff
