Stillwater Posted April 8, 2013 Share Posted April 8, 2013 Time to look at a harder way to get resources out of the planet: North-western Australias iron ore mining in the Pilbara ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pilbara_region_of_Western_Australia ). Taking off in Karratha ("I might be smaller than you, but I am faster!")... ... and getting a fascinating view on the red countryside on the way to Mesa J mine: Paraburdoo Mine... ...and the approach to Paraburdoo airport. A nice & unexpected gem this is (thanks to Mark Lee)! Heading north to Mt Tom Price mine. Can´t take my eyes off this fantastic landscape... Mt. Tom Price Mine: West Angeles Mine: Mount Newman Mine - can you see the loooong trains being loaded in the background? Nice details here: Newman "city"scape, also full of detail: Finally, parking at Newman airstrip: Once again, a nice tour.
