Caudron-Rafale at Catalina

Recommended Posts

I took the Caudron from KAVX, around to Avalon.

Used all the runway to take off, & had a closer look at the town using the Drone Camera.

TTM (MSFS)

This shows much of the character of Catalina Island that has been captured so well by Ken & Tim- windswept, with sparse vegetation. (The Island I mean)

The nose is obscuring the cruise ship at Avalon.

I like the way MSFS does cloud shadowing on the water.

The Boat Club.

Stunning tile work. They look like painted ceramic tiles, & they have been aged to reflect the impact of the elements. Top class.

Your long nosed plane is getting some hours in and passing some excellent scenery which you are sharing with us.

The detail that has been put into the Catalina add on is utterly amazing.

Well done and I shall look forwards to seeing some more!

Your plane is quirky, a little bit of "lets be really different because we can" but with your choice of scenery both become so

very complimentary.

Catalina with the Orbx touch  just seems to be that made for that sort of vibe.  It is je nais se quois at it's finest :)

Cheers

Pete

PS - you've given me a journey destination .  Gotta go looking for roof tiles now!

Could you explain that expression to me, please?

Sorry, this may not the place for such a question, but I am curious to learn.

I would be much obliged to you.

Thanks!

Joe.

PS: it looks like the French expression "un je ne sais quoi"...?

 Hi Joe

As per the PS - "I do not know" I've always used it as a description (from when I took French in school)  for "even though it has some flaws and is not perfect it has an appealing intrinsic quality which is very nice" .

But school was so very long ago now, and I live about 2000 KM from Quebec , so there are endless possibilities that I have it wrong :(

It's old age and I'm sticking to my story

But in all seriousness, it just seemed to me that the combination of the character of the Caudron and the "feeling" of Catalina that was portrayed by TTM's screenshots made it a perfect fit.

I stand corrected if I have used it incorrectly.

Cheers:)

Pete
