Stillwater
This flight starts where my last one ended, in Gerald Ford International Airport, Grand Rapids, MI. You may wonder if I chose the right plane for my destination? Yes it was the right plane...: Here we are, after flying 12 minutes to the west: Holland, Michigan. This airport is called "Tulip City", KBIV. Confusing name... ... but a tour over the city center reveals the reason: And soon we learn that the name "Holland" also has a meaning. Now, following the Macatawa Bay towards Lake Michigan, ... ... I have to say I miss the Big Red at the tip of Holland State Park. So let´s go back to Holland Township Airport, just direct next to the road but i was too slow to take a RL picture there . Perhaps we find some place for the night with good service. Jack Sawyer
Awesome Gerold, love the mix of real and sim. But in the first one, you never said why you needed tundra tires on your plane... Best, Jack
VH-KDK
Fooled me again Gerold with Holland in the title. Interesting shots and story. You really have started something here with your mixture of RL and FS shots. I may have to jump on the bandwagon once I have found my old photos. But I guess you can take it

Best, Jack Well, there are 2 reasons: First I was not sure if I would fly to Holland Tulip City airport (as I finally did) or to Holland Township airstrip (which I knew to have a long grass runway). Second I do own the Tundra 185 only.... 17 hours ago, VH-KDK said: Fooled me again Gerold with Holland in the title. Interesting shots and story. Cheers John To be honest, the destinations in your neighbourhood you either discover as a child or much, much later: I have never seen a Dutch festival in Netherlands; @Wolter van der Spoel, where is your expertise? But what I can say: The Tulip Time Festival in Holland, MI is great. You see the picture of the wood shoe dancing show, can you imagine the sound? 15 hours ago, RJ said: Wondrous set. Loved it! According to the Internet, stamppot is one of the signature dishes of the Netherlands. Maybe it's available only in underground cafes As for people in Chennai, they would run away in fear from that sausage!
