Yesterday I placed a couple of screenshots depicting the Fokker Junkers aircraft from MS 2020 decked out on QANTAS colours on the Community Screenshots board - as a side comment -to the announcement that Orbx will be producing a copy of the Ford Tri Motor - "Southern Cross" that was the first aircraft to fly the Pacific from the USA to Australia - as part of World UD7 The comments raised were on what might be the results of the statement that the U date would be Australia and what it might bring and I just thought - maybe the question could be a topic for the forum in what appears to be a quiet period. I couldn't resist the following made here to set the ball rolling - so to speak ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Thanks all for the comments" It has already been announced that Orbx are producing a Version of the Ford Tri-Motor that carried the name "Southern Cross" when Kingsford - Smith was the first to fly the Pacific from the USA to Australia My title was intended to draw the resemblance of the Tri-Motor - with the JU Fokker - sitting outside Orbx Offices at the Essendon airport Orbx version in 2020 The actual aircraft sits in in its own hangar at Brisbane Airport for all to see -and be copied by Orbx - who already include it in their rendering of the airport In my opinion - and I'm sure that many on here are fed up of my pounding the subject - MS 2020 is a way - way behind with the Australian scene and by my calculation - 9 years behind on the Bing Sat that is used - and as such - is an insult to Australia. Unlike many - I couldn't find "My House" - that I have lived in for 8years - because on 2020 - it is still a building site The answer is obvious - that the the announced World Update 7 on Jan 27th - is to be Australia - and who else besides the Aussie Orbx is qualified to put together this update - simply because - "who knows it better?" -since they already produced "Australia" versions 1 and 2 for P3D - the radical TE series for UK and USA - which was as close as one could get -to what 2020 has brought us - as to scenery below 10000ft flight level Orbx - clearly saved the life of 2020 - with items like London City and Airport at the beginning - and the huge amount of stuff since - especially the cityscapes -as well as providing a vehicle in Orbx Central - for other smaller producers We already have Sydney and Brisbane - why not my Gold Coast City and Airport - "yes" - even Melbourne and Perth Roll on the end of January - when all will be revealed - and Orbx Please note - the current Bing Sat is right up to date !! and my house is clearly there

Neil Hill reader age range
John Heaton replied to Rodger Pettichord's topic in The Neil Hill Memorial Lounge
born 1935 - @86 - I constantly stop and think of how much history has happened since I was born in the closing stages of the depression in the cotton/coal belt of Lancashire in The North of England Apart from various wars - starting with the Spanish - most of the Worlds Famous bridges - the original Queen Mary liner - 4 monarchs- 12 British prime ministers - the first flights of the Tiger Moth - Spitfire and Hurricane etc etc - and 50 glorious years of living in AUSTRALIA - and - just like an Aussie cricketer in the current Ashes test series - against England - Making it to 100 not out -
would someone dump my previous effort?? - this time with the right video In 1972 on my first trip out of OZ – from Perth to Singapore – in a Qantas 707 – seat 3A after a nice dinner - good cognac - etc - and feeling in a mood that all was well with the World - the view out of the Window - was a long line of Volcanos -into the distance – I worked out as JAVA On many a trip since - both in Java and over it – I never got the same view again. Yesterday – Courtesy of Microsoft Fight Sim – I got to see most of them on a 500 mile on a flight from Bali to Bandung

I dont know whether this qualifies or not - to the subject but my favourite flight with stopsI did 3 times a year - over a week Qantas 707 to Auckland - NZ to San Diego - visit McDonnell Douglas - United to L.A. - visit my Pasadena factory = T.W.A. 707 to Seattle - visit Boeing Factory - Pan AM - 747 200 - via Greenland Circle to Heathrow This last I loved - and did some 5 times - because Pan Am first class used the top lounge as a dining room full silver service on table cloths I also did boring monthly trips to the UK via the usual Singapore - KL - Bangkok - Bahrein - etc visiting factories

resolved Throttle keeps jumping around
John Heaton replied to John Heaton's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator Support Forum
It is happening on every aircraft I use in MS2020 @Doug - I am using a Honeycomb Bravo and its always throttle one - whether it a 2 /3 / 4 throttle setup ie in a 2 throttle - the offender is slot 1 in the honeycomb - in a 2 throttle jet it is slot 3 -
No worries there Mate --- all 3 sims are played in heaven ------on super computers

Fed up of either trying to find/use the controller and trying to fly at the same time?? I was and then had a light bulb idea - which I share with you who use a yoke - in my case a Honeycomb Alpha yoke - and the controller is attached by using Velcro strips. A small tip - after fastening by the velcro -- I suggest using a couple of rubber bands temporarily to set the sticky backing on the Velcro and strengthen the adherence Remember--- the controller can also be used with P3D - and actually has a default binding with the sim - or you can set your own, ---- X plane? - I haven't tried

No John - no need now - as I said it all worked today as I described - and I have the aircraft installed What I will now do is follow the suggestion to leave the community file empty = and start a separate file elsewhere - for the almost 100 gbs - and draw from it when needed I remember Nick suggestion something on the lines of your suggestion and to categorise into sceneries - aircraft etc -

thanks John -- I will give that a go - but what I tried was rename the file as we do for updates - same difference ?? - and loaded new download files to community - (only 2 files there) - and it worked As to the FBW in the aircraft menu - that should not be there since FBW pulled the pin on the marketplace after Update 5 -

Knock - Knock ?? -
I decided to give above 10000ft a go in this sim - (P3D normally) Having read about various problems with the Asobout the same versions known as Working Titles CJ4 and A 320 - I obtained a download of the CJ4 from the webbsite - and the installer for the A320 and then WT did the installation Both aircraft are shown as installed in the profile Content Manager - but they don't appear in the aircraft selection thumbnails so I can't get to use them Similarly - before I bothered with the WT a/cs - there was/is in the aircraft selection - a Fly by Wire a329 NEO suffixed LEAP but when I call it up at an airport - every thing else appears - but not the aircraft. Anybody any suggestions ?? - or should I stay below 10000 which is brilliant.

This Week's Meaningless Topic (#61) (Nov 6)
John Heaton replied to Rodger Pettichord's topic in The Neil Hill Memorial Lounge
Absolutely - no question - and the sleeve was my 21st present from my young lady -
I wonder why he did that approach - since the windsock at the end of the runway shows zilch wind - and so why did he not do a straight in approach and landing - saving time and Juice ?
-
Yeah! - wonder how many blokes have picked that up yet?? I've stopped buying anything for the PC version - only from Marketplace - and - only if it has the X box symbol on it -as well as PC Good to see you are enjoying the 4K and HDR - maybe Father Xmas will find a Series X for me There are just none in Australia - probably because of that Telstra package you got - maybe I will be forced to drop Foxtel and go crawling back to Telstra -- or maybe just satisfy myself with an Series S

I'M Jealous -- are they default shots - have you tried any addons yet - esp'Orbx

Hi all who answered I had a good look at how to make that multi video - and it may be to complicated for my old brain but I have been looking at a payware software - Flight Control Replay - that I saw reviewed in PC Pilot a while ago It looks that I can add it to my editing set up Thanks to all
-
Good onya Frank for all that - and something to chew over - not to old to learn new tricks - and many blokes on here to help. I too have been having a dabble in the flight sim field and made a few videos on my "relatively new Utube channel " = even one from YMMB (where I got my licience 50 years ago) --- to Tullamarine - passing over my old house in Beaumaris https://youtu.be/6XfYG1c4Bp8
