  1. I am having a problem loading this programme i bought 2 days ago - which - after d/loading 20 GB has stopped 3 times in unloading and installation -at around figures 28 -- 72 -- and 60 So now loaded 60 GBs for nothing - plus 6 hours non flying time Have restarted computer twice with no avail
  2. Gerold I dont know about cheering you up - but you may have just opened a can of worms- but then again - this might help As you know - an so do many others on this forum - I have been spouting the benefits of 2020 when it gets to to X Box since the sim was first announced - 30 months ago Then last Sept the x Box series X went on sale - and the sim went on to it in Sept this year - and I still havent got my hands on a console as yet - neither have millions of others - so my large screen 4K HDR10 screen sits there - forlornly - awaiting a friend As I said - Then again - xbox and 2020 dont seem to be going to well together - limits to size of addons - DC 6 scrapped and money back - a number of other probs - so maybe - fate intervened - in that - something I wanted badly - I aint got - and would probably be even more frustrated if I had got one - just like you and many others about the Asia LC thing. Look at it this way -- just as the experts were ready to give all of us a xmas gift of OLC Asia - along came V5.3 !!!!!
  3. may I have a smile to myself - at this mail Two of the smartest blokes in simming - helping each other
  4. Well - apart from your very good pictures - is this some sort of - "Guess the Airport" I know its not the Gold Coast ! - and I'll let you cross the border on Monday - if you behave yourself I'll take a guess at the first one - Sydney ??
  5. Thanks for that John - I never really got to know the latest versions of the old lady - my last flight was 38 years ago and that was Malaysian Airlines to the UK via KL None of the other airlines came close as far - as I was concerned to Qantas - and I flew with most majors - between 71 and 82 when I retired Their lounge in the 200 was really "First Class" - second was Pan Am - set up as a restaurant and bar - but that was the model with just 3 windows per side My final fling with a Qantas flavour - was the initial thinking behind the Qantas Museum in Longreach - back in 93.
  6. I just came across a u tube video of a piece of history - the only one still flying commercially. The video is a story of a Boeing 747 - 200 - which is the aircraft that I spent 100s of hours flying around the World between 71 and 82 mainly on Qantas - on a Business - that was allied to the aviation industry. I often spent some time in the jump seat because I knew a few skippers - and I notice that the a/c still has 4 windows in the nose that was part of FC and the 4th window was almost always my choice of seat - 2A. Although this is now a freighter - the cockpit is still almost identical - and still has a Flight Engineer Although it will be for P3D - I cannot but be more patient for the release of this Oldie - by Just Flight - and even it means that I will still use P3D for some time to come - re-flying my travel logbook of the 70s - and meantime - trying out the one in MSFS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmijxHgnyr8&t=1634s
  7. I forgot to mention I also built an extinguisher factory at the end of runway 33 People said I did that to keep and eye on my aircraft from my window
  8. Definitely the original Aussie coloured regions - I still have the discs however - a very close second would be YMMB - Moorabbin where I did all my initial flying and where I kept all my aircraft - and Orbx got it so right !
  9. Sorry John - Officially - here in OZ - summer started officially on Dec 1st Dec 21st - the date you used- is actually is our LONGEST day because the sun reaches its farthest position - South - and the next day - starts it's Journey back to your Northern Hemisphere It's sometimes called mid - summer's day - and there are no shadows at 12 noon along the Meridian If you look at your charts -- the line goes from Rockhampton - through Longreach traveling from Queensland to around Exmouth in West Australia - traveling over some of the World's most deserted and driest land for 2600 miles If you take the trip - you will also see some of the most colourful- scenery - but wait until MS do the Aussie update next month when - hopefully - they will bring the Maps - up to date Just a little anecdote ---- on the 21st Dec at 12 noon - I was about 300 miles out of Longreach - driving along the Capricorn Highway - which is mostly a dead straight road - Quietly musing about actually being on the Capricorn Meridian - no shadows it being 12 noon - and singing to myself - when a blue flashing light came in my rear view mirror and - Yes - I was doing 40 over the limit - and the musing cost me $350 - and the officer -wished me the compliments of the season !!
  10. Thanks everybody - I have dumped the video because I wasn't happy with it because - although i managed to get the first one on the GC after UD 7 - the constant need to keep changing bindings and settings due to the bugs in the U D - after that - I made a mess of the video all together. @ Gerold - you are tempting me to do one at dusk so the afterburner shows up just as the demos done what we call The Brisbane River Fire event Any body know how to incorporate fireworks into the video - MMM !! - thinks ? - some sort of dubbing in the editing ??
  11. Just as the title says - I took the new MS addition through another Orbx Cityscape after the video of my beat up of my Home Town - Orbx Gold Coast seen under videos
  12. The Broncos Suncorp Stadium is already on Orbx Brisbane City - and no Bias - because so is the GABBA - where this weeks Ashes test will take place - no bias there either
  13. Real Aussie Squadron based at Tyndall - livery FS.to
  14. woops !! a Daisy - does that mean I can keep my Black Bird - which is actually an Australian Magpie on the tail
  15. The update is Jan 25 - and we are always 1 day later - i.e. the 26th - which - of course - is AUSTRALIA DAY!!
  16. However - if one realises that there is a hangar full of "Other than Tubes" aircraft that IS available for flights under 10000 feet and above 1500 feet - then one will find a whole World to fly in - even in small tubes and speaking of having a blast - how about the latest addition to the hangar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0UWxksgMag&t=214s
  17. Why start a new thread when one already existed 1 hour earlier ??
  18. For sometime I have been thinking of dumping V5 as I don't think it as good (stable) as V4 and I now only use P3D for the aircraft I can't have on MSFS and all long flights over 10000 ft This gives me the excuse to clear all of it - and just reinstall the vanilla v5 until I see what the new one offers - LM has its own 2 TB drive so bags of room - none of this separate drives problems only then - will I go and reinstall - step by step - all my Orbx stuff using Central - making the assumption as I did when V5 first came out -that if Orbx installed it - it must be OK ?? However - I will not do the above new Vanilla Install for another 3 weeks - as On the last occasion LM gave us a Hot fix to a stack of probs V5 brought - 3 weeks later
  19. 3 days ago - the RAAF retired their last Super Hornet - but before it went into the museum at Williamstown fighter base - I borrowed it for a final 15 min Flight around my home town - Gold Coast - Australia - finally tangling with a cross wind - (well - My story anyway)
  20. When it all comes out in the wash - $21.63 is 1/2 the price of a packet of fags -and Essendon Airport - even for P3D - is much healthier
  21. Maybe that's why Orbx hasn't given us a new GC airport yet - just waiting for the extensions to be finished We Live in Hope !! --- hopefully -- long enough
  22. Thanks Guys - I dont use FSUIPC John - but - since the update - it has stopped ?????
  23. Love these shots and the bird - and because I cant afford the A2A example - I got this as well - and picked up the paint job as you did
  24. No worries John Maybe the Kiwis might be lucky - Orbx appears to have been working with the NZ company recently and have them on the Central Marketplace and who have quite a number of freeware Kiwi Airports on Flightsim.to - as well as a few Airports et in P3D Also - they have produced the new mesh for the sim's New Zealand - and the area size of New Zealand compared to Australia is quite small enough to be incorporated in any Antipodean / Oceana update
