I assume this is the scenery made by Cloudsim Asia and previously sold through their own website.

What about us early adapters that bought this from their own website? Will we be able to get the updated version or will we be left hanging?

Any chance of "transferring" the purchase to the Orbx store by showing some sort of "proof of purchase"?

Your assumption is wrong. "Landmarks Singapore" is a genuine 100 % "Orbx Only" product.

Can we please try to cut back on the blurries?  It really doesn't do well for product promotion, and it does hurt the eyes. Thanks!!!!  Every other shot looks great though!

I like this effect in MSFS. Sharp what is in focus  unsharp what isn't. Just like on a real photo.

Edit: and how it the human eye sees it IRL.

I had some hit and miss with ILS as well in addon scenery,  it's not exclusive to Orbx but yet it;s an issue.  Azuropolly had no ILS on their latest one which was reported by others on avsim although it did in Navigraph which I can confirm.  Orbx ESMS/Malmo had no navdata at all for the airport until the latest NG Airac released currently so now I can finally land there, the scenery was kinda useless prior.   LEBL had no ILS either on runway 07 wich was actually an MS problem as although NG had data for that one the runway itself did not exist in MSFS itself.  There are definitely still issues but at least with NG it has been better I reckon, I can only assume that this particularly applies to addon airports but even then I had issues where although there was data and I could setup the approach I still had to tune the frequency manually.   Bottom line the issues seem to exist with different causes and solutions but some are clearly still broken no matter what.  I'll have to try EGNM and report back as I don't have the others.

But what you say could also indicate, that the second but least Navigraph airac was faulty.

Or didn't you have Navigraph installed before the release of the last airac, i. e. when you had the issues?

I have posted the following also in the other "LOWI runway" thread:

All those runway issues are strange and I cannot reproduce it. I did run MSFS Standard via the MS Game Pass for the past 4 months and never ever had any problems with LOWI's runway, neither with the default nor with Orbx' version.  I had the windsocks and VASI issues though.

10 day ago I did a complete uninstall of MSFS and then over Christmas a complete new install of MSFS Premium Deluxe using the boxed DVD set and all the necessary updates and patches via the internet. Again, the default LOWI ran flawlessly.

Today I redownloaded and reinstalled Orbx' LOWI and still have not any runway issue with this aiport, no bumps (with or without snow). Even the VASIs are now fully functional again. I haven't checked the windsocks yet, completely forgot about them.

I have to correct myself. I did a bit of flying around LOWI yesterday and it seems as if only the VASI (PAPI) AT rwy 26 is working. At 08 it still only shows 4 white lights, no matter of the approach angle.

    for info @Nick Cooper

    Hi Wolfgang @wolfko

Thank you . I'm pleased that you found this useful

All my screenshots are direct from MS2020.   I use Nvidia Freestyle  in GeForce Experience available from

    NVIDIA Freestyle: Customize A Game’s Look In Real-Time (geforce.com)

Not many people realize this but a version of the popular post processing software Reshade has been implemented in Nvidia drivers  for about the last 1 1/2 yrs.

I have used the full version of Reshade for several years now. However because Reshade requires direct access to the flightsimulator.exe file to set it up, it will not work with the MS Store version as this is in a hidden, non accessible folder.  In addition the full version of Reshade has a bit more setup involved. So it will work with the Steam edition of MS but not the MS Store version

The Nvidia Freestyle version of Reshade is easy to setup with the MS Store version ,just remember to check the box for use experimental features  in GeForce Experience to implement it.

    Some caveats :

    1) This applies to both the Steam and the MS Store version. In order to prevent cheating in on line first person competitive  games, the developers of Reshade automatically check to determine if your game falls into this category. If it does and unfortunately MS2020 allows multiplayer online use so it falls into the category :(, you will find that the actual number of  extra reshade shaders that can be used beyond what comes from Nvidia is severely limited.

In essence , any shader that can be used to give an advantage over your opponent  will be locked out. Yes I know that MS2020 really doesn't fall in that category, but this is how it has been set up and they will not budge (I've written them about this).

So all the shaders which come from Nvidia in the package will work fine (and you can do a lot with them, you'll have fun experimenting), but the reshade curated package is very much a hit and miss affair. There is a link to the Gibhub location to download these if you want to try, but the only advice I can give is patience and good luck , as it is a very frustrating , time consuming process to work out which additional filters will work.

Part way down in this article , there is a description of the new curated shader package and a link to the Nvidia Github site.

New Game Ready Driver Released: Includes Support For GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER; Adds ReShade Filters To GeForce Experience, Image Sharpening To NVIDIA Control Panel, G-SYNC To Ultra Low-Latency Rendering; and Support For 7 New G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitors

If you have the Nvidia DCH driver type you will have to create a sub folder called Ansel in the c:/Program Files/NVIDIA Corporation folder as shown below to contain the curated shaders

    bSX7eRW.png

    2) Don't try to modify the settings etc. in the curated shaders. If they work there will be a nice panel with sliders in the Freestyle window. All shaders are hash code protected and will fail if you modify anything in the shader code, which is disappointing for me as I often write my own code for various things I play around with.

However, the setup process using Nvidia freestyle is really simple compared with the full version of Reshade. In essence , alt+Z will bring you to everything you need after it is setup in GeForce experience :)

Anything more specific from this, please send me a PM. I will be glad to help if I can

    Cheers

    Pete

Wow Pete! Thank you so much for this very detailed reply and explanation. I'll give it a try.

    Cheers, Wolfgang

  7. Colours of landscapes sometimes can look completely different from high altitudes than they look from ground level. I first realized that when flying over Autralia's Red Centre and seeing Uluru in midst of vast dirty brownish-grey plains, whereas when looking from ground level (and low altidude flight) the soil colours of these plains is a bright orange red.

Aerial imagery used for Google Maps, Bing etc. and subsequently used for flightsim sceneries is mostly taken from satellites or high flying planes, so can differ in colours from how a scenery looks from ground level.

Also, for what ever reason, many photos used by Google Maps or Bing have an unnatural greenish hue, which unfortunately can be seen in many areas of the world within MSFS.

    Hi Andy,

We're actually keeping the five default landmark objects in Singapore -- they are of very good quality indeed -- but are adding things that are missing like night lighting, rooftop vegetation, etc.

Fair point, thanks for the feedback.

    Cheers, Holger

Long time no see Holger. Good to see that you are still on board. :)
