  1. The "X" is not the logo, but just Orbx' forum's profile pic.
  2. I am not sure, why the new logo should not fulfill the criteria you mention the same way or even better than te old logo did. Old New Okay, the old logo contained the writing "simulation systems", but this could have been any kind of simulation. And even if you assume simulation is only flight simulation, you couldn't tell from the old logo if Orbx created sceneries or perhaps aircraft or maybe is a weather engine. I personally think, he name Orbx is so well known in the flightsim community, that there is no appendix needed telling people what the company does. And I also think the new logo is more contemporary than the old one was. Just my 2 cents. Edit: and I like that the writing is out of the box now. Looked a bit "restrictive".
  3. It should not be a pain looking up frequencies. As a real world pilot you have always to cross check if the autotuned frequency corresponds with gthe ILS charts. And the majority of aircraft don't have frequency autotuning anyway.
  4. Nowadays, when even airlines like Lufthansa have no meals, no check in baggage and no seat reservations included in their basic tariffs on many flights, there is not much difference any more between low cost carriers and so called "full service" airlines.
  5. Your assumption is wrong. "Landmarks Singapore" is a genuine 100 % "Orbx Only" product.
  6. Is it S43 Harvey Field? This red and white striped hangar looks familiar.
  7. First of all I would say this is in Australia, because so far I have only seen this innovative method of using garbage bins for a cordon in Australia.
  8. My first guess would have been Welshpool. But then, calling a Welsh person English, what is very common for us German speakers, would be an insult I guess.
  9. Not sure, going to check the webcams at all Orbx airports now.
  10. Hm, there is snow on the hills in the background, also alongside the runway.
  11. I guess Doc is referring to Jarrad's post from May 30th 2020.
  12. Gerold, please allow me this crossreference: Hervey Bay - General Discussion - NO SUPPORT REQUESTS HERE PLEASE - Orbx Community and Support Forums (orbxsystems.com)
  13. Whenever I try to open a user guide for any of my Orbx MSFS products via Orbx Central I get an error message, saying there was no user guide available. Is this normal, are there really no user guides available for Orbx MSFS products?
  14. I like this effect in MSFS. Sharp what is in focus unsharp what isn't. Just like on a real photo. Edit: and how it the human eye sees it IRL.
  15. But what you say could also indicate, that the second but least Navigraph airac was faulty. Or didn't you have Navigraph installed before the release of the last airac, i. e. when you had the issues?
  16. I have to correct myself. I did a bit of flying around LOWI yesterday and it seems as if only the VASI (PAPI) AT rwy 26 is working. At 08 it still only shows 4 white lights, no matter of the approach angle.
  17. I have posted the following also in the other "LOWI runway" thread: All those runway issues are strange and I cannot reproduce it. I did run MSFS Standard via the MS Game Pass for the past 4 months and never ever had any problems with LOWI's runway, neither with the default nor with Orbx' version. I had the windsocks and VASI issues though. 10 day ago I did a complete uninstall of MSFS and then over Christmas a complete new install of MSFS Premium Deluxe using the boxed DVD set and all the necessary updates and patches via the internet. Again, the default LOWI ran flawlessly. Today I redownloaded and reinstalled Orbx' LOWI and still have not any runway issue with this aiport, no bumps (with or without snow). Even the VASIs are now fully functional again. I haven't checked the windsocks yet, completely forgot about them.
  18. Colours of landscapes sometimes can look completely different from high altitudes than they look from ground level. I first realized that when flying over Autralia's Red Centre and seeing Uluru in midst of vast dirty brownish-grey plains, whereas when looking from ground level (and low altidude flight) the soil colours of these plains is a bright orange red. Aerial imagery used for Google Maps, Bing etc. and subsequently used for flightsim sceneries is mostly taken from satellites or high flying planes, so can differ in colours from how a scenery looks from ground level. Also, for what ever reason, many photos used by Google Maps or Bing have an unnatural greenish hue, which unfortunately can be seen in many areas of the world within MSFS.
