  1. I have adjusted where the TEGB addons must be placed.

Are you using an organiser? If so then if you disable and then enable TEGB addons using an organiser, the layering sequence for TEGB addons will be wrong again. With that in mind you may wish to further adjust your scenery_packs.ini so it is layered so fully optimised.

This is the layering sequence to follow:

1 All 3rd party airports plus any True Earth airport files

    2 Global Airports

3 Laminar London Landmarks ONLY if you have TEGB South installed

    4 All True Earth addons

    5 Laminar Landmarks

6 EVERYTHING else like Libraries, Lights, city packs, x-europe ,SFD Global, Simheaven etc ensuring that any addons parts with prefix zzz are at the bottom

I will leave the balance of layering your scenery_packs to you as I have attended to the Orbx True Earth addons. If you are using an organiser then any further corrections would be non productive.

If you don't use an organiser then I suggest you follow the guides 1-6 above to ensure you get the best results and optimisation.

Hello This completley off topic But im getting very low FPS on Orbx true earth great britian xplane11 i dont think its my settings i will send you my Scenery.ini

    scenery_packs.ini 15.82 kB · 0 downloads

This needs to go into the x-plane forum not here at the Community Screenshots.

I have looked at your scenery_packs and it is all incorrectly layered, but I will assist when you post this to the correct form please.

    Thanks

  3. You don't have to type in the coordinates, just select them from Google Maps and then Control+V to copy them into the Search bar

Here i have randomly  chosen a spot in Columbia

Click on the bottom where the coordiantes are shown

    Capture1.thumb.JPG.765762e9c3f4936027d17029ef257db9.JPG

    And you get this

    Capture2.thumb.JPG.1c78c2e7c66b578e409b9a9a1ab4bcff.JPG

Now just highlight the top left (ringed in Red) and then in the search bar in MSFS just use Control V.  and it will copy the coordinates

I watched some of it but it doesn't seem to answer the key question; will Orbx scenery in xplane 11, that I and many of us have purchased, be compatable with xplane 12? I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I wish Orbx could just give a simple answer; yes or no.

There were  parts of that question answered in the interview. Austin stated that he always wants any new version of XP to be at least one back version compatible.

There was also discussion about the new water feature and how Orbx are trying to resolve the new aspects of water. Trees are also different in XP12 i believe.

No one can give a statement that Orbx addons will be compatible with XP12 until it is released.

What is clear is that Orbx are working with Laminar on XP12.

  5. No is the best answer. There are circumstances where it is best to uninstall, NOT delete some of the MSFS airports that may prove to be conflicting with an Orbx or partner version, Like LOWI for example.

Use Content Manager to UNINSTALL. If you just delete it will only reinstall itself on start up.

  6. For those who have been asking about XP12 and Orbx, I would strongly recommend that you take a look at this video if you haven't already. It gives a great insight into the cooperation between Orbx and Laminar plus it answers some of the frequently asked questions:

  7. Your True Earth addons were incorrectly placed above Global Airports.

They should (except the TE airport files that come with the addon) be placed directly under Global Airports.

If you are having an issue with the Malaga airport addon, then all available assistance from Orbx is explained above and you need to contact Aerosoft. Here is your relayered scenery_packs.ini

    Thanks

@Jon Clarke I have just read your post again, does that include Orbx? I was under the impression that it was in a library and all that was in the community folder was a link?

When you install Orbx addons you get to choose where to install it if you also have made libraries.

If you choose the Si it will download directly into the Community folder. if you choose a library it will make a symbolic link of that addon into your Community folder.

If you make a folder like MSFS addons and use the Linker, whatever you choose from the MSFS addons folder will be symbolic linked to your Community folder

  9. @wain71

You need to make a folder for example I have one I called MSFS addons. Then drag and drop all your addons from the Community folder into it. That should leave your Community folder empty. You now have MSFS with no addons, just pure MSFS.

Make sure that Addon Linker looks for that MSFS Addons folder to allow you to pick and choose what you want to put into the Community folder for a a flight.

Regarding addons that self install, you can let the installer install the addon and then drag and drop the installed addon into your MSFS Addon folder.

There may be a caveat to that with some sophisticated 3rd party plane addons, I don't know, but I doubt it as all addons would be installed into the Community folder eithr by Orbx Central or by the Developers own installer.

Here's a link to how to use Addon linker and what can be done with it:
