  1. From checking that the TE addons are recognised and in the scenery_packs....yes they are. So should be displayed when you fly in those regions.

Your XP log file shows no errors.

You may want to post a pic or 2 of the ground. Pic from Spot view looking straight down is what is needed. Not a pic from inside the cockpit.

I need to see as much of the ground as possible.

  2. FPS in itself is not important but it is the only tool that can display what effects are happening that may assist in enhancing a quality display to include both visual display and smoothness.

It will indicate where your current settings can be possibly improved by lowering a setting, or indeed increasing one to get the maximum result.

A setting at EGFF for example where it is fairly low key as far as detailed surroundings are concerned, would bring my PC to its knees at KLAX.

I found SU10 gave me a few more FPS and fluidity with TAA and my normal  Custom settings out of the box.

DLSS on Quality with the same Custom settings at the same airport and time and conditions and plane added even more FPS and fluidity.

    These were both on DX11

DX12 with the same settings was different, both with the Studio and game ready drivers. Lower FPS

Really does depend so much on your PC specs and settings, hence the different results from everyone.

DX12 definitely requires you lower your MSFS settings to achieve the DX11 frame rates and fluidity so personally I do not see a benefit, but it is early days of tinkering:)

  3. I will ask @Nick Cooper to also assist in seeing if he can determine a possible cause of the installation issues you are having.

Your log files for both SD and HD versions show consistent errors being reported in the Overlay and Custom files of TE Oregon.

I assume that you latest effort was from a Clear Temp and remove Backups ( I note you had unticked the Backup option in Orbx Central but just want confirmation).

Nick do you see any possible cause for the issues being experienced?

    Thanks

  4. Hi

It really does sound like you have an issue, maybe hardware or free space or something like that.

Something is either not being done right in completing a full uninterrupted installation or  some kind of other issue.

I am afraid I have run out of ideas.

I suggest finally that you uninstall TE Oregon fully.

Reboot PC and try an installation of TE Oregon SD not HD

I use the SD versions of all the TE addons as I see very little difference in quality between the 2 versions above 1000ft

SD is free to you as you bought the HD version, much smaller download and installation size, loads quicker, no Conversion required from jpg to DDS format.

All in all less chance of having issues.

  5. Many thanks to those that responded to my post.

All good info and I am enjoying very smooth flying at 3840x2160 4K with DLSS at Quality and all settings at Ultra.

Before I tried DLSS I left all my settings as before the update and noticed there was an improvement in smoothness and FPS with SU10 in comparison to SU9

  6. I am unsure about the use of DLSS when SU10 is released and would like some input from those who have used it in the SU10 beta.

I have a 4K monitor and i the MSFS Resolution setting I am at 3840x2160

I understand that the Render Scale setting becomes blanked out if you choose a DLSS setting.

What I am asking is that in order to use DLSS do I keep my MSFS Resolution option at 3840x2160 or do I need to change it down to say 2560x1600 or leave as is.

If I leave as is, then what if anything will DLSS do for me?

  7. Regarding your Backups it is entirely up to you if you want to keep and continue to make Backup copies.

Personally I don't as I have fast fibre broadband if I need to download again and I don't want space used up o my drives.

This info is from Orbx Direct product details for TE Oregon HD:

The download size of this product is 49.24 GB. It uses 220.12 GB when installed.

The SD version doesn't show the size but is significantly smaller installed size.

  8. Hi

I don't quite understand you first sentence "Copied Scenery_Packs.ini to Scenery_Packs.x, as you suggested "I said to make a new folder called  Custom Scenery having named your original to Custom Scenry.x Nothing about scenery_packs etc and then drag and drop the TE Oregon files plus Global airports into the new Custom Scenery folder so that TE Oregon and Global Airports are the only addons in the new Custom scenery folder.  it maybe your inadvertent terminology but I did not mention acenery_packs,

I do not believe that the TE Oregon download available is corruot but that there are issues your end we need to try and resolve.

I give a link here on how to install TrueEarth addons and ask that you read it and ensure you have everything set up to download and install.

You say you have moved everything XP related to you H drive. Please uninstall TE Orergon, Clear Temp and Delete any Backup copy you have, and advise the amount of free space on that drive before we proceed any further. Thanks

  9. Again thanks for the responses, especially Pete's usual highly detailed ones.

If there isn't an immediate need to upgrade, why not see what the 4070 12Gb brings later in the year (hopefully) or alternatively its effect on 3XXX range prices as they seek to clear stock before release. You might find yourself with more buying power.

    Budget is my limitation.

After consulting with my PC specialist I have purchased a 3070 Triple fan

I asked about the limited (compared to 1080 ti vram) vram of 8GB and was immediately asked 2 questions.

    1. Do I use multi monitor? No

2 Do I use VR. No

It was then suggested that the 3070 would be fine with 8Gb vram.

I asked about the 3060 with 12GB vram and was advised that it would only really equate to an newer version of the current 1080Ti and that the 3070 would be a higher spec performance wise and have RT and DLSS facility.

    Hence my decision.

Many thanks for your contributions and suggestion. I may well let you know what i think of the new GPU after I receive and install it.

  10. Do a test by renaming Custom Scenery folder to Custom Scenery.x

Make a new Custom Scenery folder

Either drag and drop the Oregon files into the new Custom scenery folder or  Uninstall via Orbx Central.

    Drag and drop Global Airports

Before a reinstall, Clear Temp and any Backup you may have.

Without any other addons in the new Custom Scenery folder, run XP11 and exit.

Make sure the new scenery_packs has Global Airports above the TE Oregon files.

Try a flight in Oregon and report back.
