  1. There are approximately 83,000 Orbx members and Neil's work has been experienced by all of us in one way or another. Now that is what is truly termed as a legacy.

I and many others would be humbled if our work affected that amount of people in our time on earth.

RIP Neil and thank you for providing me so much enjoyment as a result of your dedicated work to simmers over the years.

  2. TTM:You don't need to have v3, nor if you do have v3 do you need to have it on the same drive as v4. There is no correlation between the 2 versions. There are many people who have just gone to v4 who have never had P3D previously.

I don't know what PC case you have but the modern ones tend to have plenty of HDD/SSD slots in them. You could if a slot is available, just add another SSD solely for v4. For very little money you could have an external USB linked HDD to take all the "downloads and clutter" you refer to and that would leave your E drive free, or even, if you decided to "pull the P drive" use the space left in your PC case to install a new SSD. Many options are available.

  3. I am waiting for hopeful reply from the LM forum but want to know if anyone else has experienced the following:

Prior downloading the v4 zip last night I had 185GB free space on C drive. The zip was about 12GB. I extracted the zip and then deleted the original zip. I was left with the new extracted folder with the setup exe and Client etc. Installed successfully and moved not copied the extracted v4 folder and it's contents to another storage drive.

I now find I have only 170GB free space on C drive.  I have done all the clean up of Temp folders etc. Anyone notice the same reduction in free space on their C drive after installation. It's like I still have a copy of the v4 program somewhere on the C drive, but I can't find it. Any ideas as to what is causing this 15GB approx. loss of space?

EDIT: Must be the Repair copy referred to by Elaine in a post

"First,  Insure you have at Least 12 gigs of free space on your C-Drive Operating System,  You can Install v4 on any Drive you like but you will still need this extra space for the Repair Installers on your C-Drive "

Pity those with much smaller C drives

  4. Many thanks again Elaine. I notice that there is mention of coastline improvement in certain global areas but not all areas. Is that something LM would be considering working on to make it truly global?. I am assuming the corrections mentioned are  similar to the Vector type data but also assume that default simobject placement has been altered accordingly, so that buildings don't appear in the water as is prevalent in some areas using a Vector database.

  5. Thanks for your very detailed info. I would like to know when you intend to give us an insight into some more details of the list of planes that are included. I fly GA and have always used a C172. I do have the A2A version which I know will be 64 bit available on 30 May, but am interested in other GA planes that come in with v4
