  1. Hi Don, I believe you are comparing different simulators. The first pic is from P3D, and the second pic is from MSFS, and appears to be showing the "Landmarks Brisbane City Pack" which is only currently available for MSFS. Cheers,
  2. I think Greg has it. I see Inns' Bruck written on the wall. Is it written as two words? Is that the correct Austrian way to write it? Great pic, and a new take on this competition. I would like to see the interiors of many other airports, as it would currently be impossible in real life.
  3. Thanks for the info and the pics Erik. I have checked this out too and the info has been passed on to the developers. Re your first point, The frequency and ILS name and course were all input into the correct fields for me when checking this out after release. The info was all in the NAV/RAD page before I departed once the approach had been selected, and it was there on approach. I found the info did briefly disappear from the NAV/RAD page during descent, but returned before the ILS was to be intercepted. It is possible that this could be an issue with the FBW A320 itself as the info is there to be interpreted. Cheers,
  4. It is definitely an interesting idea. GSX already implements automated ground operations in FSX and P3D, and I think they are bringing that to MSFS eventually too. With GSX you can change your camera to custom views outside or even inside, the ground operations vehicles. They have pushbag tugs, catering trucks, baggage trucks, driveable airstairs, jetways, cargo loaders, buses, vans, fuels trucks, and you can get up close to them all using the included custom camera views or with the avatar in P3D. Making them driveable would be an interesting expansion on this that I think would make the most sense, so maybe FS Dreamteam are the ones to suggest this to on their forums. Some PMDG aircraft (at least the 747 Queen of the skies II) come with a driveable pushback tug, so you can control the pushback of your own plane, but I'm not sure if you can then drive it around. I often just use the avatar in P3D, or the drone camera in MSFS, to wander around an airport and surrounds to check out the finer details of a scenery. Particularly with many developers now including interior modelling and more detailed surrounds, you can spend hours just wandering around an airport, just like I do in real life when I get a chance to do that occasionally. I notice that the new Adelaide International by Impulse simulations has included the building which houses the record breaking Vickers Vimy (although not the plane itself), and I visited this in real life one day when I had few hours to kill at the real YPAD. I spent over an hour there and I was the only one there! I found that just by wandering around the perimeter of the airport, and walking to all the places I was allowed to . An interesting idea for sure, but be warned, you will find opposition from the traditionalists who think you should not be allowed to leave your plane .
  5. The last printer I bought was a Canon PixmaMG6150, in about 2007, but have not needed a printer for years, as I just use PDFs on a tablet or my phone or PC now.
  6. I still fly P3DV4.5 a lot, probably more than MSFS. I have only installed P3DV5 very recently, so haven't flown that much yet. I also fly XP11 from time to time, and of course, enjoy MSFS too.
  7. Yep, and along with the selfish, short sighted real estate agents, the governments do little to stop it as long as they are receiving their stamp duty and their capital gains tax. I remember reading a newspaper article in 2008 saying that in 30 years the median house price in Melbourne (Australia) would be $1 Million. I laughed at the time and thought it would be much sooner than that. I just checked and the median house price in Melbourne (at April 16, 2021) is $1,004,500. There will be a lot of people who will never own a home, whether they work their whole life or not.
  8. I have always had issues with the Discord website and the Discord program not communicating very well. My suggestion is to download and install the Discord program/app on your PC, then create an acount if you don't have one, sign in, and then at the bottom left of the page choose "Add a server", which is the big "+" symbol. Then copy and past the invite code in this thread and you should be set. This is the best way (for me) to add any server (ie join any Discord group).
  9. Still the master of screenshots Richard. They look amazing!
  10. Fantastic pics Adam! Ice Pilots is an awesome series. I actually purchased the DVDs directly from their website a few years back as I was so in to it, signed by Joe and everything! Can I ask where you got that livery for the DC-6? There is one on Flightsim.to, but it looks a bit different to that, with a number on the tail. Cheers,
  11. Really amazing comparison shot John. Look how far we have come! I was flying around Cambridge and Hobart recently and took the time to drone around for a few hours, and the devs have done an outstanding job with not only the airport, but the surrounds too. They even went as far as to model and texture the surrounding roads, with traffic islands, turning lanes, markings etc way outside of the airport boundary.
  12. Stunning pics John! Wow, your sky looks great. May I ask what addons you're using for sky/cloud textures and weather? It actually looks like you have photoshopped some real sky pics in there . Really the whole lighting setup you have there looks great.
  13. Stunning pics, or postcards!! I can actually imagine cruising over the city in the magic DC-3.
  14. The weather depiction in MSFS was probably the biggest wow factor for me when I started using it. On one of my first flights I departed SEQM Airport with real weather and as I started to fly through the amazingly realistic looking clouds the TBM's wings and windshield started to pick up amazingly real looking ice, and the flight dynamics were even affected, and I had to add more power to generate more lift and keep climbing. The worse the weather, the more spectacular it is in MSFS.
  15. Happy (belated) Birthday Roger! Hope you had a great one.
  16. Top shots Adam. I was surprised I hadn't seen any DC-6 shots yet. It looks great in MSFS. I love that video. What a beast of a plane. I suspect it would have garnered the same reaction back in the day as an A380 does today.
  17. Happy Birthday Martyn! Have a great day mate.
  18. Fantastic shots! Your colours are always so vibrant Pete, and there is a lot of colour at Avalon and Catalina to bring out.
  19. Pretty sure it's one of the default aircraft. The JMB VL-3. https://www.windowscentral.com/list-microsoft-flight-simulator-planes#jmbvl3 Cheers,
  20. I haven't noticed any memory leaks as such, but haven't really measured the memory either. I did hear third hand about a post on the MSFS forums where someone mentioned that upgrading from 32GB to 64GB made their sim a lot smoother and stopped a lot of micropauses and stuttering.. This would suggest to me some type of overuse of memory. There would be more information on the MSFS forums about this. I am curious too. Unfortunately I bought 4 x 8GB sticks of RAM with my last PC, so an upgrade to RAM would mean a complete replacement up to 4 x 16GB sticks of RAM. I really thought 32GB was futureproofing to some extent when I built my PC just a couple of years ago, but it seems now that more RAM may be beneficial with some programs, and apparently with MSFS. Not sure if this is is a bug though, because requiring over 32GB of RAM does seem a bit of a stretch, and well above the sim's specifications.
  21. Hi Don, You can try using another browser to download. If you are using Chrome, try using Microsoft Edge (previously Internet Explorer). I assume you are downloading directly from FSDT? Usually you can allow a program through even if Chrome does block it. Not sure why it would block GSX anyway, but if you click on the options on the download page if it has been blocked you should be able to allow it through. Probably easiest to just try MS Edge first though. Cheers,
