  1. I only watched Greyhound very recently, and hadn't really heard much about it prior. Wow, that is a good movie.
  2. Happy birthday mate!! Have a great one. ✨🎂
  3. Yes, the ones at Avalon were definitely not that impressive. The seemed more like a ladder, and were very narrow, just wide enough for one person. You could feel them swaying as you went up the steps. Those displays look very impressive. I would love to visit one day.
  4. I never flew in it, but I got to see the Connie fly at Avalon Airshow a few years ago, and also had the opportunity to take a tour on board. From memory it was a $5 donation and you could climb the stairs to board and pretty much stay on as long as you wanted. It wasn't overly busy so after wandering around the plane for a bit I was sitting in a seat and chatting to a couple of the volunteers, I think one was the pilot. I suggested they should take it up for commercial joy flights, but they said it wasn't allowed, I guess due to the strict regulations around commercial flights of any type. The main thing I remember is how tall those landing gears are. It was a bit hairy just climbing the steps to get on board, as they were quite narrow and seemed twice as high as regular steps you'd climb to get on a 737 or A320. Such a beautiful plane!
  5. No probs. Also, I think Lido charts do have slope displayed on the approach charts, but I rarely see Lido charts anymore. I think Navigraph used to use them, but now they use Jeppesen (I think).
  6. Runway gradient will sometimes be listed in the airport information section, or under the runway info section. From what I understand, this info is only listed if the runway slope is greater than +/- 0.3 degrees. A lot of runways of major airports which have the appropriate charts will have a runway slope less than this, so it will not be listed. You can use other information to calculate the slope pretty easily. On the Airport diagram chart it will list the threshold elevation for each end of each runway. Subtract the elevation of the lower end of the runway from the higher end. For example, if the elevation of the higher end of the runway is 4,400 feet, and the lower end of the runway is 4,370 feet, then subtracting 4,000 by 4,370 results in 30 feet. Divide the difference of the elevations by the length of the runway. For the example, the length of the runway is 3,000 feet. Dividing 30 by 3,000 results in 0.01. Of course when entering the gradient in the FMC you can enter + or - values of the gradient, depending on which end of the runway you'll be starting on. https://www.faasafety.gov/files/gslac/courses/content/573/1781/airport-diagram-legend.pdf
  7. Not much you can do about that, you can't make all surrounding roads and car parks a ground poly. The car parks at YMML are massive. I think they nailed the portions of the ground poly that they had to make a ground poly. There is always going to be a transition point, and the one on the bridge happens to be so visible due to the bridge having a texture on a model vs pure photo texture.
  8. Yeah I watched it too, only up until after departure though, had other things to do last night. YMML looks great!
  9. Looks pretty cool, but considering the minute amount of flight simming I've done over the past couple of years, I think I'll hold off for MSFS 2028 😅.
  10. I recently flew back from Adelaide, and stopped by the new Vickers Vimy exhibit at Adelaide Airport to see it. It's a great display, with lots of audio and video playing, and interactive information screens. They moved it from the external display which used to be located near the staff car park, and have moved it inside, easily accessible from the terminal and located just behind the Atura Hotel. Such an impressive machine to see up close, but I just cannot imagine how those four brave men flew it around the world!
  11. Awesome pictures Aussie! About time I went back to Canberra to look around again. I made the long walk from the airport to that shopping centre last time I was there but didn't think to get photos of the RAAF side of the airport from there. I did of course get plenty of plane spotting in overall though, as I stayed in the hotel at the airport.
  12. Looking forward to seeing some pics Graeme! I couldn't make it this year sadly. The Avalon Airshow is always an amazing experience.
  13. Not sure why Ken, but I have also been simming way less than I did previously since about late 2021. I am sad to say I have actually lost interest a bit. I am confident I will regain some interest in simming and aviation in general, but I guess I just started doing other things in my life. I think in my case I just wanted to mix it up a bit so started playing some other games. With a very busy work schedule over the last few years, playing other games, and doing other activities, it just left little time for simming. For the past year I've actaully struggled to even start up a sim. I used to get hours upon hours of relaxation and enjoyment flying, as well as the enjoyment and satisfaction of learning about the world and aviation through simming, so I'm sure I'll get back in to it eventually.
  14. Love these shots Paul! Nice livery on the Hornet too.
  15. I have also only flown around in light aircraft and looked around with the drone camera so far, but they have been very smooth. No stutters at all on my system.
  16. How good is it! I was surprised to see this too, i had no idea it was being made. Saw it last night and grabbed it instantly. Having visited the airport a few times i can agree it's an awesome job.
  17. Awesome video! I love watching the RAAF Roulettes. They're just magnificent. I had the pleasure of looking around inside and sitting in the cabin of the HARS Connie at the Avalon Airshow one year. Such a beautiful aircraft.
