Tim Harris Posted June 7, 2015 Share Posted June 7, 2015 Beautiful shots of Tau!, there are quite a few old caldera left from volcanoes to be found there (and everywhere around the chain), in fact the entire island of Tau is half a caldera and is also at its peak, the highest point in American Samoa The Manu'a chain are said in Samoan history to contain the origins of Samoan and Polynesian culture, in traditional beliefs the sun rises over Saua on the Island of Tau, where the coral reef is supposed to be always yellow from the sun, and it sets at the western-most village of Falealupo in (Western) Samoa, this journey of the sun defines the Samoan way of life, or in other words: "The Samoan way" (wiki) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
