The wild, wild West

Stillwater

With my topic tags it is obvious I won´t join John Wayne´s territory in this tour. We continue from Bathurst Harbour...

... out to Davey Head, gain some height to go to ...

... Lake Peddar, and turn back west to ...

... Strathgordon. Quite a big settlement for this area (after a long distance flown over wilderness...), though far away from the focal points of global life. Do they have fast internet there?

From Gordon Dam ...

... I took the pleasure to follow Gordon River:

This is the proof for Martyn: Even my weather engine shows rain over Tas.

Important to choose the right place for landing, the untamed river has enough corners left.

Down to Gordon´s end, where he feeds Macquarie Harbour:

Hells Gates. Sure this name has a convict history.

Ocean Beach. Over 20 miles long, as far as I think. And hit by heavy weather, because the next landmass to the west is Argentina.

So I better not went on westwards, but turned right to Strahan.

For a drink, or two. Sorry for the high number of pictures.

EDIT: Sorry, I even forgot one pic: The proof that I chose the right plane for this tour. Taken from Google Earth.

What plane is this?

Thank you boys, it was a pleasure to fly in this environment - you virtually get away from home quick.

The plane is the Carenado 185 Tundra, in the amphibic version. Always nice for low & slow adventures.
